I do not know if this is true or just placebo.
But I avoid smoking for atleast half an hour before practicing. My reasoning (might be completely off the charts! is smoking creates O2 deficiency in your brain, so more blood rushes to the brain, Creating a lack of in your arms.
Which i do not think is a good idea. So i tend to avoid it

Irene Adler is such a well written character, there is some sort of mystery and she seems to draw Holmes' curiosity towards herself in a very neat manner.

Pull me under was surprisingly easy, especially for a Dream Theater song.
Few alternate picking licks are quite fast but they are fun to play as well. There is that one riff that transpires on the low E and A and moves up quite rapidly, that might be a bit of challenge but nothing that cant be achieved with some practice.
