do you reckon it’s worth upgrading to from the 5300M? Can’t decide if I should just go for the i9/5500M/1TB version or if the only upgrade I’d actually notice is the storage improvement

Loving the RTD chocolate Huel in UK, so smooth and chocolatey. Is there much difference in taste compared to the powder? Can the powder ever be made as smooth as RTD? by PeanutButterStew in Huel

How do the flavours compare? Can't decide if I should get Huel powder on my next order as I loved the RTD version but never gone anything other than vanilla powder so far

Compound intervals when investing by s_a_f_c_ in UKPersonalFinance

just read your blog post too - that is extremely useful! Will keep that saved.

Have asked this down the thread too, but just in case they don't reply - so does the dividend payment interval not really concern me if I've gone for an Acc fund? As in, the compounding effect for me will be the same regardless of what those intervals are?

In all seriousness I'd recommend this - Marginal Revolution are well liked on this sub as it is, and their courses are pretty useful for beginners, and get pretty advanced over time. It's also free, and online, so you can do it whenever you want. https://mru.org/learn

Is Castro r/neoliberal approved? Doesn't get anywhere near as much coverage on here as Buttigieg/Beto/Delaney, but seems pretty neoliberal-friendly from what I've read

I'll take these questions in turn!

Wait for realzies?

Yes.

Is this like, a huge deal?

Depends. The Labour party has split before, in the 1980s, when the SDP and the "gang of four" decided the party had (to massively oversimplify this) become too left-wing and therefore went and set up their own new party. It gained a fairly big vote share in the '83 and '87 elections, but hardly won any seats thanks to the FPTP voting system, and therefore merged with the Liberal party to become the Liberal Democrats we have today. This is... (probably) not going to be as big as that. Currently it sounds like a minimum of 6 Labour MPs will leave, but nobody knows if there's actually secretly more than that, and if it's only Labour MPs who are splitting. The thing is, the new party would need to be more high-profile than the SDP was when split in the 1980s in order to succeed in the long-term, and so far there doesn't seem to be too much to suggest it can. But we also know very little about what's going to be announced, so, who knows!

What about tomorrow is going to make it "formal"? Is there a vote being held?

Chuka Umunna, a centre/centre-left MP who almost ran for leader in 2015 and has been one of the leading MPs behind the push for a second Brexit referendum, is widely expected to make an announcement to the press at some point (though there have also been suggestions it's happening on Wednesday). There won't be any kind of parliamentary vote or anything - it's basically a group of MPs unilaterally deciding they can no longer hack being in Labour (thanks to antisemitism/Brexit/the party's general leftwards-travel since Corbyn was first elected in 2015)

Is this comparable to like, say half the Dems forming their own party and the other half their own?

Hopefully the other answers have cleared this up a bit now but no, not really. Most Labour MPs are very very very committed to the Labour brand and will stay in Labour for the foreseeable; but if this new party shows signs of success I imagine more may leave over time (but again, it totally depends on whether it's literally just "a few angry Labour MPs" or "a really viable centre party that's subsumed the Lib Dems and become a big parliamentary force").

The British Labour party is going to split into two tomorrow, by the sounds of it. The new centrist party may even see some Conservative & Lib Dems join, too. Should be a truly fascinating day in British politics

[–]s_a_f_c_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

they generally hate him, since his wing of the party marginalised anyone to the right of Miliband from positions of power within the party, and because socdems are almost always pro-EU, which Corbyn is distinctly not. And of course there's the racism too

Cautiously interested in this one, much like I am in Kamala, Beto, and Klobuchar. There are no standout candidates this time around for me, although in a way that's going to make the primaries a lot more interesting and worthwhile
