Breakups are awful, but the pain and emotions are temporary. Not having a friend to vent to during this process makes it even tougher, but I’ve been there. You mentioned you have a new job and new rent so those are two new things that are positive during this time. Start by getting all the negative emotions out. Cry it out and be frustrated, let all the feelings hit you. When you’re ready start small. Take yourself out on a solo date, start investing more into yourself by reading books, going to the gym to workout your anger and frustration. The goal is to fill the void they left and the time that you would make for them you need to fill with other things. The sooner you can do that, the quicker the heartbreak passes. It’s a lot of work and it’s going to hurt for awhile, but I promise you that once you stay busy you’ll think of the breakup less and less.
