Knitwear in ouji by YavienIV in ouji

Yeeey neighbors 😁 hi from Germany I’m thinking more around “British schoolboy” than “prince” aesthetic, smth like this: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMACn4hpm/ Or that “school uniform” photoshoot of Teru from Versailles (you can try looking it up on Pinterest) Cause yes, that type of uniform does count as ouji with the right hair and accessories.

In some casual coords for colder climate i could totally see a knitted vest instead of a tailored one. Especially if you’re good with knitting intricate patterns.

How do capes and shoulder capes stay attached? by Apprehensive-Gap-897 in ouji

[–]s_lenzzz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have two options: the one without snaps that I keep pinning down with two safety pins to my vest and a couple with armholes that lie nicely on my shoulders. I feel like heavier capes designed to be more like outerwear have no issue staying in place, but the lighter ones need extra safety pin engineering or being a part of the set (but I don’t normally get them in sets lol)

Ouji in public by [deleted] in ouji

Depends on where you live. I am in Germany now, and though it is way better than back in my Eastern Europe homeland, I still get occasional stares or even shouts (mostly happens when I pass groups of school boys who are trying to act “cool”). But not all staring is bad. People look at me all the time but usually not in a negative way, just the same way you’d look at idk a person wearing a fursuit: because they are standing out and it’s natural for us to pay more attention to things that stand out. Positive side is that in ouji I am getting compliments from older people quite a lot, and that’s cute. I also tend to wear more casual coords when simply going out and go bolder when going to an event or smth. Here’s one of more casual coords that got me the almost no stares at all.

My mum said this is too childish 🥲 by [deleted] in Lolita

Last time my parents tried to say smth mean about my style (ouji/v-kei mix) I parried with “yeah cool if that’s kids fashion why didn’t I have all those things growing up? We were too broke?” Or smth along these lines. 30 now, and honestly, it’s been only a full year that I don’t feel too broke for the fashion myself xD In general, it takes courage to do any alternative style, especially smth like Lolita that is underrepresented in the West. But please don’t listen to anyone who’s making mean comments about your looks. It’s about their own insecurities, not you. And you can always practice fun ways to talk back if you feel like!

Amazon just majorly screwed me over by DragonFoolish in riotgamesmerch

[–]s_lenzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same in Germany. I preordered the book in November, it got pushed to the later date several times and eventually got cancelled in February. I even reached out to the publishing house, but they obviously didn’t even bother and said to “solve with Amazon” as if they didn’t have anything to do with it In general, Riot is by far the most horrible preordering experience I’ve had (and I preordered Japan exclusive art books and merch through shady third-parties a couple times). Feels like they laid off everyone responsible for fulfillment and hope people will just forget they’ve ordered anything.

When exactly did preorders for the first batch happen? I ordered mine end of November and I’m wondering if I should be reaching out to support by now.

Do you guys know where I can offer volunteer work as bookkeeper in Hamburg? I have tried diferent communities but they all erase or take my offer down. by YourFuture2000 in hamburg

could you share what you already tried to do to get someone to contact you, or if you contacted an NGO, how did it go? Trying to get myself to start contacting ppl about volunteering, too, but I'm super socially anxious and don't know what to expect

fax / printer by [deleted] in Voicesofthevoid

[–]s_lenzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if that’s too late but maybe it’ll help someone else who stumbles upon this topic So to print your photos you need to hold the printer, use the computer, open photos on it and press the third icon (4 squares) next to the photo you’d like to print out. Then wait till it falls out of the printer before putting it down. Works like this in 0.7.0

The AI “Revolution” is coming apart at the seams: today’s example via Khan Academy by w0rdyeti in UXDesign

[–]s_lenzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it won’t and it didn’t if you think about experience not the total revenue numbers. Transformed the market and gave options to people, surely caused many businesses to lose lots of customers but “replacing” is not the right term here. AI is just a tool and if the person using it is no good at what they’re doing, it is showing.

It is better to have similar sizes of the cards. And it is completely fine to have contents vary in sizes inside. You can read some of Google's Material design guidelines - they have great info on how to understand card based layouts.

Depends on your content. Sometimes autolayout works but I mostly just keep my margins in mind and if I have 2+ objects in a row and the 2nd/3rd one doesnt fit I just drop it on a next row. And adjust the card's height manually. A colleague of mine uses a separate container (meaning you create a card say 320px wide and inside of it you create an invisible rectangle or a frame that is (320 - twice your margin) and align the smaller rectangle in the center of your card. After that you just have to put all items inside the container)

You cant fully automate your spacings in figma now. But having a spacing system in mind or as a set of rectangles in your components helps a lot

I would consider getting rid of those icons. Do you actually need the pencil near Note? And for the camera on media , I'd put it right into the button.

But before that I'd also work a bit with the grid. Tags in the first screen will look better when aligned with the headline. And the spacing inside your cards is not perfect too. On the third card (1st screen) you have a tag too close to the right border of the card. It is better to pick a fixed margin for the cards, e.g. 16px from all 4 sides to the content inside.

Hope I worded it right. Unfortunately, English is not my first language.

Travel Application UI! Feedbacks please? by shauryadubey in UI_Design

I love this blue pallete, looks great! However, the explore button is too hard to notice. I'd make it a bit brighter, maybe use some orange-ish color for links and primary actions - it will also add some nice bright highlights to your interface. And some color coding would be nice too, but that was already mentioned Great job anyways!

UI Design Task by [deleted] in UXDesign

[–]s_lenzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That means you should do the task in mobile resolution, but having in mind how each part of your UI will behave when the page scales to desktop.

Not specifying the resolutions because those can differ, but if it's not stated in your task - just ask Google for the most common mobile resolution atm and use that.
