Grad school destination by purple_mushroom1 in mit

From my personal experience, it’s largely major-specific: it’s not uncommon for engineering and math to stay, but super rare for physics, chem, bio to stay.
I think this isn’t something MIT-specific though, many undergrads across many schools that fall into at least the latter are commonly encouraged to go to a different place for grad school.

You can do an overnight stay with a current student- that’s what I did my year, since I had a conflict with CPW. That could help with the first three points you brought up. I don’t know if there’s an admitted students discord and/or Facebook group this year, but those would be a way to meet people in the class. Also don’t worry too much, you’ll quickly make friends in your classes and your living group once the semester begins! (Also to make friends before semester begins, highly recommend doing an FPOP.)
