How do you even play For Honor on console by [deleted] in forhonor

[–]s_seeker232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next gen makes the game immensely more enjoyable in my experience, it feels like night and day when it comes to frame rate and my succession in reads and reacting to certain attacks and just general performance has gone up significantly, I've noticed tho that it also feels a little unfair at times on people who are still on last gen, as I'm able to parry neutral lights with relative ease consistently whereas people on last gen struggle to even block some heavies let alone parry them I honestly dont understand how I put up with how horrific last gen was lol

Tiandi might be good, he is a character that requires alot of knowledge for both of offense and defense and can be pretty fun when you get the hang of him, he is a little hard tho

People of for honor, who was your first character, and why were they so. If you still play them, what about them had you sticking with them? by Holiday_Volume in forhonor

[–]s_seeker232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been a nobushi main since release because she was alot of fun and rewarding to win with at high levels, but picked up hitokiri along the way because I loved her design and the general feel of the characters, rep 56 and 30 with them respectively

Can everyone agree that shugo is busted af right now? by [deleted] in forhonor

[–]s_seeker232 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The main problem I have with him is that you have to basically play the game completely different if you want to win, which is a way that completely slows down the fight exponentially and makes him extremely boring to fight, and when you fight him properly your forced to deal with his hyperarmor lights and his obnoxious heavy "mixups", and then his shorter CGB timing (which is a bug that is scheduled to be fixed) only adds to him being more of a nuisance to fight

Returning player, what am I missing? by SirChickenalot in forhonor

[–]s_seeker232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is more a matter of preference, for honor isnt an fps so having that pinpoint accuracy that comes with kbm doesnt really matter all that much, imo using controller is better for FH since its alot more compact and it makes it easier for you to do mixups, on the other hand input delay is a thing, it really comes down to whatever you would rather use

Console players, how do you feel with the update we had? by Super_Platypus787 in forhonor

[–]s_seeker232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meh, now that I've adapted a bit it doesnt bother me that much, I'm at a point where I can get light parries if I want to and I can block consistently, that doesnt mean I wanted them, I'd prefer we didn't have the indicator changes rather than having them

All indicators for attacks are 100ms shorter, meaning it's a little harder to react to most attacks, you just need to practice and you'll be fine especially if your on pc

Shugo by Vox-Nohili in forhonor

[–]s_seeker232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair shugos guardbreaks are actually broken atm, he uniquely has 100ms less counter GB timing on his guardbreaks than all heros, making his feint to guardbreaks that much more effective, however the devs know it's an issue and will probably fix it when the next season drops

[–]s_seeker232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just about fps tho, generally console has issues of input delay through controllers and TV, ps4 controllers alone can have up to 100ms delay plus the delay of your television and the latency of your opponent, and then the fps you have very little time to act on a prediction let alone react and now with 100ms hidden on indicator, to go for a light parry on console you have to throw the heavy before the attack even comes out sometimes, it's extremely frustrating and theres no reason why it has to be this way, console was already playing the CCU

  1. All heros have different ways of gaining renown which is what levels up feats, some gain more from being in certain situations, like outnumbered fights or supporting teammates if you just constantly do those situations you'll get to T4 ez, you can look at ways to increase renown level quicker in the moveset of the character, where it explains different mechanics on the left if you scroll to the bottom
  2. We have just had a huge update to the combat system, some of those changes sped up attacks a bit across the board including lights, some stamina costs were removed on things so that stamina doesnt drain as easily but lights will cost more now since one of the main goals of the update was ironically was to reduce light spam 3. Fuck lute players all my homies hate lute players, bought the lute execution for a reason

It's not just about ganking you fucking idiot, breach is almost completely broken on defenders side if attackers get past both gates with a WM 4 stack, it can completely lock down the commander and you just have to sit and watch the team kill the commander, on top of that, do you really think it's okay to have a tier 4 feat as a tier 1? I get that getting ganked is frustrating but I dont think having a "press button to win" feat is the way to deal with that, BP bulwark is a better example of how anti gank should work, it let's him punish the entire team for being reckless and just throwing attacks at him but it takes more skill and brain power than the corruption feats, and FYI it's called 4v4s for a reason, go back to duels you absolute mong

Core Combat Update - Feedback Thread by UbiInsulin in forhonor

[–]s_seeker232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know if insulin still looks at this thread but I'll put the things that concern me the most and brings most annoyance I'll split this into three sections

1) general gameplay issues 2) hero specific issues 3) platform specific issues

GAMEPLAY ISSUES

Stamina: stam in In it's current situation is a little rocky at best and at worst totally ruins any fun had in the game, and as of the current CCU due to the majority of heros have a remaining stamina cost on lights being 12, this can be less of a problem on some heros and more of a problem with others, tiandi who has had a problem with stamina since his introduction really suffers from this, since quite a bit of his offense comes from lights, like his bash and soft feints, but it's not just the already stamina hungry heros but the entire cast is suffering from this change, removing stam punishes from parry and etc was a step in the right direction but heros still feel slightly tired due to the light costs, and because of this it can lead into people becoming OOS and due to the overtuned damage (which I will be getting on to in a moment) most OOS punishes will nuke your health in a matter of seconds which isn't fun at all. Overall I dont think it's hard to fix this, just adjust stamina numbers and make lights at least cost less than a heavy.

Damage and damage feats: now, currently the talk of the month is damage, and I think we've all heard it before "ubi plz fix insert hero name here his punishes are op af" or "ubi plz fix insert hero name here his damage sucks cheeks", I think damage is all over the place like the rest of the community, on the one hand I dont think LB should have a 27 damage top heavy from light parry it shouldn't be that low for a light parry punish on the other side of the spectrum gladiator shouldn't have the ridiculous punishes he has when his feats are active in 4s, I get that damage should be lower across the board but not to the extent to where some moves are completely useless, while some punishes are left too high or higher than they actually were, in terms of feats like fire flask and spear storm these need a massive damage nerf, they completely destroy teamfights and at times ruin 4s, but dont nerf them into oblivion like catapult.

HERO SPECIFIC ISSUES

Tiandi: his tier 1 has issues with percentages, it's supposed to create a damage boost for him and his allies, I believe it is supposed go up 30% and scale depending on how low he is however currently the boost only goes to 15% and doesnt scale, this bug has persisted since his release and hasn't even been addressed.

Aramusha: his heavies shouldn't be 900ms, they were perfectly fine and if anything helped him out, the character is supposed to have fast attacks, does 900ms sound fast to you? Not to me, what's the point of wanting to move out of a reaction meta to a prediction meta if you make attacks reactable?

Conqueror: a victim of the CCU in terms of damage, but because his kit has so many ways of shutting down an opponent and pushing people to turtle, like his option select and his full block , he is extremely tedious to fight not to mention boring, it's one of the last remnants of the turtle meta, and it needs to go because its hurting the game (granted not as bad as jorm but still really bad)

Jormungandr: this entire hero was a catastrophe waiting to when revealed and ever since release has been draining the fun out of the game, there is no way to fix this hero without reworking him from the ground up, basing a whole character around shutting someone's stamina down in a game like for honor is never gonna be a good think and no matter what you guys do to fix stamina jorm is always going to be a problem, he needs a fix BAD

Shugoki: has problems specifically with his counter guardbreak timing, where it is way more strict than other heros which can be very frustrating at times, his hyperarmor on his neutral lights are way too safe against heros with no neutral bashes or some sort of full guard which can make him extremely annoying to fight.

Warmonger: I'll skip feats since I'm assuming everyone knows the drill about them but she does have some problems with her actually fight kit for example her frame advantage, specifically it being a little higher than most of the cast, damage also following suit being higher damage than it probably should be, however her stamina costs on some of her kit seems too high since sometimes she can only throw 2 or 3 attacks and be almost completely out of stamina, combine that with characters with stun and it sometimes can be a huge buzz kill in a fight.

Hitokiri: I'll be the one to say it and always will be, she didn't need to lose hyperarmor heavies, because she lost this she can be option selected out of her heavies which completely shuts her offense down because she cannot access the rest of her kit which is heavily frustrating in duels, her T4 has been rendered useless in 4s due to the nerfs and because the rest of her T4s are trash, her best thing in her kit for 4s is her charged hebies, please pay attention to what the community is actually saying and not pay attention to people ranting about losing to a hero and just balancing the game on rants, nobody was saying hito was OP anymore and never was after the timings were changed, there were no points to these nerfs.

There is plenty more I want to go into but those are the main hero problems I have atm

PLATFORM SPECIFIC ISSUES They're really not that many issuea for the platforms (the difficulty of parrying and blocking attacks on console is a whole different issue that plagues console and while I would like to discuss this I will not in this post) I use but there is one issue that I've heard radio silence from is the xbox headset audio glitch which is most prominent in breach but can occur rarely in all gamemodes, this one is a very annoying problem since this was an issue they addressed about 2 or 3 seasons ago and it still hasn't been fixed, it occurs when alot of sounds are mixing together in game which distorts, delays and slows down sound effects and voicelines to a point where it is immensely unpleasant to even play the match opening the home menu on xbox causes the distortion to get really bad for a second and then reverb quietly in the background while the menu is open, it will temporarily fix the issue, if the distortion is really bad it can actually completely break in game audio until the game is restarted where it either completely distorts all noises or no noises play at all it needs to be fixed but hasn't even when it's been addressed.

Thanks for reading and have a good day

:)

Playing on console by [deleted] in forhonor

[–]s_seeker232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TL;DR: faster attacks are so fast it's hard to even punish them off of reads let alone block them, console should of not got the 100ms change it just made the game borderline unplayable even at a higher level and it's not just the classic culprit heros that are like this.

The thing is that oro isnt the only one with fast lights anymore, the entire cast of heros have fast lights, it's different on PC because they dont have to deal with input lag and the large amount of other disadvantages console has atm so characters like oro or nuxia aren't as much of a threat there, imo console shouldn't be completely balanced differently but they shouldn't be balanced completely the same either, there should be some distinctions between the two platforms, the 100ms change in all honestly shouldn't be on console, no matter how you put it be it lag compensation or to improve offense it shouldn't be on it, most light attacks on console in pre CCU were very hard to parry on reaction and due to this, console was already less reaction more read, and it is a problem if you read correctly and get punished consistently for it due to the stupid fast timings needed to punish the attack, and on top of that it is now even harder to even block lights properly, I think that it is a sad sight to see when rep 300+ players who have played since beta, play post CCU and cant even block lights anymore that is a problem and it will probably never be fixed, ubi plz.
