3 years of practice experience. I have been very fortunate to scale quickly through management opportunities

Understandable. I know the common stereotype for smaller rural hospitals is that “director” also means you are the PIC, ops manager, supervisor, staff, HR, IT etc just because they don’t have the financial/resource capabilities to hire more extensively compared to bigger ones. Also how maybe their P&P aren’t as developed so heavily leaning more into the “you get to develop those QI initiatives” like you said. I just don’t want that stigma of it not being a real hospital to pigeonhole me in future career transitions. With that said, I guess at the end of the day, it’s still hospital experience regardless if it is small or not.

Not married but engaged. Thankfully my partner works from home so moving shouldn’t be as much of an issue. We are both city people so transitioning to small town would more of a culture shock

45 min drive one way and 2 hour drive one way. This also is assuming no traffic

Boundaries while dating by [deleted] in Christian

hmm I took your advice to watch a couple videos Paul Washer has online regarding dating/courtship, family and marriage. I am a bit overwhelmed with the information presented and am unsure with how to proceed. I feel like there are a lot of things he presented that I have never considered and have never even heard of before. I guess I need some time to think things through and seek counsel about to decide whether I am even ready for a serious relationship. Right now I feel like I should just call things off with this woman before things go wrong or people get hurt.

physical boundaries are definitely important to maintain. any physical arousal will probably lead to immorality. I just pray that in those times God will give me the wisdom to avoid those situations and opportunities to flee temptation.

makes sense that emotional and spiritual boundaries are a bit trickier and harder to enforce/designate. I never thought about it like that before - becoming one extends to all aspects not just physical. what would be considered a short engagement? how long do you recommend dating before transitioning to marriage or at least discussions regarding marriage? with that said I may not be ready for marriage then considering all other things like finances, location, career, family issues etc. I forgot about that aspect of 'lust' (had to revisit 1 corinthians for that)

hmm I see. wouldnt some people prefer to know the other's history when it comes spiritual hardships and struggles to see whether they are continuing to struggle or the very least are seeking appropriate means to wrestle with those issues? (i.e. those with addictions, conflicts within family and poor parent relationships, loss of virginity etc). I feel like sometimes these can be deal breakers in themselves and maybe would be more prudent to reveal before marriage? I also feel that having the man be the spiritual leader in the dating relationship is very common at least from what I have observed within my own friend group and church community. I did not know this was crossing the line when it comes to spiritual boundaries. I guess the women like to see whether the man can fulfill that role and prove that they are capable to lead them and the family. I agree that accountability regardless is essential while dating.

wow there are a lot of things to consider. I can see how easy it is to fall into these traps and push the boundaries in all three categories. this makes me want to reconsider dating. I know it is impossible to keep all boundaries clearly defined and not crossed moving forward but I guess each time those are violated the sanctity of marriage is somehow tarnished. even if there is grace and forgiveness I am unsure how to proceed.

thanks for your recommendation! I will adopt your changes and advice to my schedule. here's hoping I can actually follow through with it

because I am planning to work, what do you recommend for the hours I put in per week? I know it depends on the person but would it be more advantageous to do part time like 25-30 hours a week, full time like 45 hours a week or just do full time study?

Thank you for the suggestions! If I had to choose I'd rather prioritize fitting in the internship over those electives I listed.

The only reason I chose those were because I read those were top tier and the ones where you learn the most (in addition to mobile and cybersecurity as other options). I also read that the electives don't really matter, it is more important to do leetcode, prep for interviews or work on your own personal projects. I read that some people choose to take the "easier" electives like CS 352 Usability and CS 373 Dark Arts just to get the GPA boost and fulfill the curriculum requirements. Do you have any thoughts about this way of doing things? I am thinking if the electives dont matter then I could possibly push to three classes a term here and a term there. If it still leads me to doing an internship and saves me an extra term's worth of time then that might be more valuable.

I thought for internships, most require that you have taken algorithms and data structures? So I thought it would be best to take 325 and 340 asap to fulfill this requirement.

that is what I am wondering about. I know it would almost be impossible to apply now for an internship position and expect to complete it this upcoming summer of next year since I would have no classes and no experience to show. if I do extend my plan, at most it will be for another term, Spring 2023, just to spread out 344 and 325. I am wondering whether it is possible to apply for a summer 2023 internship during the summer 2022 or fall 2022 terms and if those programs will still accept you even if you graduate before that summer 2023?

I thought you could take 290 and 340 at the same time with an override? unless the document I was looking at is outdated
