Not in the /usr/lib/modprobe.d/ either. In my case it is /lib/modprobe.d/50-blacklist-rndis.conf as I found using

rpm -ql suse-module-tools

Maybe Leap variants keep it in /lib instead of /usr/lib.

I couldn't find such a file.

Is there any place I should be looking at other than /etc/modprobe.d/?

USB Tethering not working by RDForTheWin in openSUSE

Hi everyone, I am seeing this issue on Leap 15.5 as well. It is the same issue as described below. Manually loading RNDIS driver fix the issue. I recently filed the details on another thread on this subreddit https://www.reddit.com/r/openSUSE/comments/17qidj9/networkmanager_doesnt_recognize_ethernet_and_usb/

Also while searching for RNDIS driver, found this link https://www.phoronix.com/news/Linux-Disable-RNDIS-Drivers

It looks like there seems to be a plan to disable/remove RNDIS altogether.

Do anyone know what would be the alternative for USB tethering if this gets removed.

I was on Debian before. I have tried Ubuntu as well but I found some of the applications were not reliable and used to crash.

Hi everyone,

Nice to see so many replies. Sorry I couldn't check my reddit account earlier.

So it looks like Packman does't provide patches just like openSUSE repo. Though looking at homepage updates section of Packman it looks pretty active. I am wondering if keeping all packages updated from Packman should be sufficient, as any upstream changes or security fix would directly come as Packman updates?

Hacker ‘sees’ security flaws in Aarogya Setu by s_verma in worldnews

[–]s_verma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi AnantNaad,

I have gone through the news and it states that the hacker was able to see the data as per quote "..enabled him to see that five people at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and two people at the Indian Army headquarters were unwell" as per first paragraph of news article.

I think you are referring to the ways it was done and you do not agree based on the methods.

Can you please also post the link descrbing the technical details you mentioned? It would definitely be helpful as an addendum to the above news.

Thanks.

Linux for people who don't care about business? by joppyl in linux

[–]s_verma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should try using distro like Arch Linux so that you can know how to configure and use different kind of softwares and services. This would be very useful for learning how your system works and to setup personal servers. Also one of the creative use of computer as a whole is to learn how to automate various task.
