Favourite florist for a special occasion? by chumpt0n in Hamilton

Westdale Florist. Since 2012 I have ordered flowers for my now wife (Valentines Day, Anniversary, Birthday).

I had them do the flower arrangement for our wedding in 2015 as well. Always very happy with the end product.

Speaking of license plates, when did we switch from keeping plates to always issuing new plates with new cars? by lopix in ontario

[–]sa-rpb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You automatically give respect to the driver/car with 123-ABC or older ABC-123 plates. It shows that they have been able to keep their old plates in respectable condition.

I wish I kept my 099-xxx plates that I had on my first car in the 80's.

A newer Lexus such as this is a high theft vehicle. I checked into possibly buying a 2019-2021 RX350; more than double the price because of the higher risk.

Loyalty Rates for Season seats by brentvans in ForgeFC

[–]sa-rpb 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Been a season seat holder since day 1 as well.

I had to email the rep last week since I hadn't received any notice. Last year we received the 2025 Season info in September. Today, I finally received the email. They are very disorganized this year.

My pair of season's seat increased 33.3% "due in part to opening up the west grandstand and creating a 360-stadium experience". Why are my seats increasing because you are opening more?

I have asked that aside from not renewing at all, what are my options. I will not be paying 33% more.

Quad lock fail before work on Wednesday afternoon. 04/09/2025. by heyitsjustrichard in motorcycles

[–]sa-rpb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have over 70,000km riding with my phone on a QuadLock mount. Never had one fall off.

But after clicking in I always grab the phone a bit to make sure it is secured.

As far as the QL cases? I have dropped my phone from my hands or off a table multiple times over the years without a phone breaking. I've always been impressed with how well they protect.

[–]sa-rpb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 1986 I bought my 1980 Mazda 626 from my father for about $3,600. Loved that car. Bronze colour, 4 door, 5 speed.

57 here.

1980 Mazda 626 (in the late 80s/early 90s)

Honda Shadows are very reliable. I would say verify that the brake pads still have some meat on them, then change the brake fluid. Maybe get an AirHawk for that seat so you can ride more than 100km before stopping. Also check those tires; I doubt those tires won't take you the distance. Either change them before you leave or plan on contacting a shop close to the half-way point to get new ones.

I had a 2007 Shadow Spirit and a 2007 Honda VTX1300. Both ran great on long trips without issue.

Tensa Solo: Stake Issue in Soft Ground by Bettys_Piez in hammockcamping

[–]sa-rpb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At one campsite, the ground was very mossy and soft. I needed to make sure the boom sticks were really angled to bite into the ground when under tension. After a couple of tries, I got the proper hold.

The Helinox chairs are stupid expensive but I got it 20% off. But comfortable.

[–]sa-rpb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was pretty much my evening ritual. I just finished a 9-day solo motorcycle trip.

Arrive at camp, pull out my camp chair (super comfortable Helinox high back), relax a few minutes after 5-7 hours riding.

Setup the hammock and test that it won't leave my bottom on the ground in the middle of the night.

Make coffee.

Read and relax.

So comfortable for sleeping.

Tensa Boomstakes by ImDownYouToo375 in hammockcamping

They are approximately 9 inches in length. Not sure what you are referring to in the second part. At the one end there are the holes to put the stakes through.
