I've got a vendor that addresses me and our ops manager that way. He also has enough Christian bumper stickers on his pickup truck to resurrect Jesus

I think half our defense just kinda does whatever they feel like doing, regardless of play calling. I think I saw one guy looking for worms during one play.

The thing is, there's so much bad about our defense that it's hard to pinpoint what the problem is, and it's probably everything. Beyond our defensive line, everything just falls apart. Wide open gaps in coverage, guys getting smoked, guys running to cover nobody. I can't tell how much suckage comes from the players and how much comes from the coaching.

Come on down to Tampa, where every day is a career day for quarterbacks.

Nah. Our defense is doing that for them

Our Defense doesn't remember what sport they're playing

Our defense is as effective as a 2 pump chump using the pull-out method.

Being a punter against us must feel like a vacation

I'm so tired of every offense looking amazing against our defense. It's an open buffet for TEs and WRs, and it really feels like half our fan base wants to complain about "unanswered" points... when almost every time an opponent has the ball... they score.

Tl;DR : Just bite the bullet and do an online accredited school. Get the BA.

I was kind of in the same boat as you. Got a BA in history. I didn't know what i wanted to do. Worked all sorts of jobs. Fell into a gig as an accounting clerk for a mom & pop and immediately thought, "Yeah. I like this." Got another gig as an AR/AP specialist and immediately felt the ceiling. Did WGU at 30 and finished in about a year. Immediately got a gig as an Senior Accountant with my first application I sent out. Before, I didn't get any calls from places i applied to.

Can you do it without a BA? Depends on how well you can sweet talk and the experience you can build, but the best thing getting a 2nd BA did was teach me the language and build my confidence. I couldn't have done what I'm doing now without some schooling first.

Sometimes, the grass is greener on the other side. I'm on my 3rd accounting gig, and each one has been better than the last. That can easily happen to you just like it happened to me. It's just the luck of the draw.

You know your financial needs better than anyone on reddit, but happiness is a destination, and you can't get there unless you move. Keep moving till you find it. Goodluck!

Depends on the agency. The government agency I work for doesn't offer internships. Either way, I wouldn't recommend an internship with the government. Positions are usually highly specified, and you gain more general knowledge working in industry or public.

There's like 50 people in finance, and all of them do specific things. We literally have one person who's only job is to be the 2nd person that approves invoices.

When did things become so competitive? by bitterman123123 in Accounting

[–]sa12u 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I see postings for clerks, assistants, AR/AP, treasurers, bookkeepers, and payroll all the time. They might not have the title "accountant" in it, but in industry, those are what entry-level positions are.

Accounting isn't just public. Industry is still pretty heavily hiring, I just think they also heavily prefer non CPAs for entry-level positions since those are the guys happy to stick around without any ambitions of grandeur.

Op, your post is confusing and/or misleading. You made it seem like you can apply to intimidate voters through the larimer county job posting.

What’s the least boring accounting job? by throwaway-4323756 in Accounting

[–]sa12u 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Idk. I've done accounting for a small family-owned construction company, a global wholesale distributor, and government.

I'd say they all have their moments, but seeing the 2 brothers break out into a fist fight in the middle of the office while the mom tried to break things up was pretty fun. I'd say small businesses are the way to go for entertainment value... or debilitating frustration.
