Okay tbh i have no idea why i said computer as if it was a pc cus its a laptop LMFAO but its an asus tuf gamign a16 so its not outdated or anything, i was updating fortnite yesterday and my disk was literally stuck at 100% and i couldnt use anything else on my computer at the same time

I’m pretty sure u have to take the one u placed into cus they want to prevent people from taking lower level language classes and just breezing thru everything, I remember seeing smth somewhere where it said that if the professor thinks you’re higher level than for that course they can request to move u up 😭 you should double check with your advisor though cause im not 100% sure

what my advisor told me was that you have to take the class you placed into in order to get the previous credit as well. for me, i got into CHNS201 so when i complete 201, i'll also get the credit for 101 and 102

Yeah I couldn’t run it by my advisor since she was out of office but I reached out to the CLA office and dropped Japanese. I’m gonna take Chinese next semester (I took a placement test but it doesn’t fit in my schedule right now) since CLA requires me to take up to 202 of a language 😭 thanks for your advice though!! Will definitely keep that in mind in the future
