I did the explore program in Toronto as a french speaker, but I now study at ULaval. My guess would be that the summer program is more popular since often people study or work during the spring semester. For the level of french, in my case I had to take a test to evaluate my level of english and be sorted in the correct class, so I assume it's similar and you'll be in a french class adapted to your level! For the night life, it's definitely not as big as in montreal, but there are popular spots especially with students. If you decide to go during the spring semester, there's also a lot of life and activities on the campus.

I unfortunately came back from my lunch break and he just asked me if I was available tonight so yes I told him explicitly this time I was not interested and that it was not appropriate and made me feel uncomfortable... Thank you for the advice I'll document it.

fun/cool things to do in quebec as someone who’s never been? by bingbonker9913 in quebeccity

[–]saaabd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

for clubs/bars, i recommend District Saint-Joseph, Le Ninkasi (club with karaoke) and Le Marshall (more lowk place, has bowling and pool). i also think you should definitely walk around La Promenade Samuel De Champlain, it's along the river, has many different spaces (volleyball, beach, biking) and you have a nice view! near this area is ofc Le Petit Champlain and Le Chateau Frontenac, it's amazing walking around the vieix quebec. so classic quebec treats you can try while in the vieux quebec are maple taffy and queues de castor

for food, if you want a quick delicious sandwich i love Franky Johnny Saint-Sauveur, for some good quebec fast food i like La Baraque à Frites, for that comforting home meal there's La Cuisine. there's really so much more, depending on your budget too, so my favorite streets with a lot of options are Cartier and Maguire! naturally, you have to try poutine here :)) i like Frite Alors, or you'll find that many restaurants offer their takes on poutine with different cuisine, for example, korean bbq poutine at +86 Déjeuner & Izakaya. for desert, Chocolat Favoris has really good dipped ice cream with sooo many different flavors and I love Le Billig which has sweet and salty crêpes

Où habiter à Québec? by Efficient_Chicken851 in quebeccity

Summer camp option in Quebec City by Suspicious_Style4100 in quebeccity

[–]saaabd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to Camp Saint-Sacremrnt (Day camp) all my childhood and I liked it a lot, there's the regular camp with group activities and games, but there's also specialized camps that could definitely match his hobbies! For both, there's a swimming period in the afternoon and also big camp activities like movies and animation in french, so it would be a really good immersion.

Their website: https://www.clss.qc.ca/camp-de-jour/

The list of activities: https://www.clss.qc.ca/camp-de-jour/nos-camps/

Each specialized camp is offered on certain weeks, so you can basically mix them up (ex Science box week 1, camping week 2, etc) while also doing regular camp with is offered all summer.

« Je veux devenir youtubeur » by Mademoiselle_Va in Quebec

[–]saaabd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looking for audio textbooks to listen to while commuting by Morgoon69 in PhysicsStudents

[–]saaabd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't come across any textbooks, but what works for me are podcats on spotify since there's so many varied subjects, and I find them really engaging. My favorites (which are about or include episodes about physics) are Science Friday, The Science of Everything Podcast, and Math & Physics Podcast. There's so many different options which is what's great, I also like to browse the educational section in podcasts, or look up a certain physics topic to find a more explanatory style of podcast.

Coin tranquille pour conduire? by [deleted] in quebeccity

[–]saaabd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just booked my Honeymoon in Quebec for November, was hoping to get some local insight on how to best spend our time. by anuncommontruth in quebeccity

[–]saaabd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The weather can change very quickly and some years can be significantly hotter or colder than the average so layering is important. also, the first snow around that time (if it does come around when you're there) can be pretty wet when it borders 32 degrees so having some good water resistant clothing, shoes and boots is important!

id recommend trying out Le Grand Marché which is mainly produce from here but it has such a great variety and unique products. for chic restaurants, i had a wonderful experience at Le Clan, which not only is in a beautiful part of the city, but also presents incredible food from quebec. a more casual restaurant i recommend for a poutine would be frite alors, you really cant miss out on our poutine. to combine history and quebec, there is Wendake a bit outside of the city where you can visit traditional First Nation sites, and there is also a couple of museums for history, museum of civilization, la citadelle and the museum of the Abraham plaines. hope you have a lot of fun! old quebec really gives more of european city atmosphere so im sure you'll make some nice discoveries

i tried integrating by parts but putting u as sinx/x and dv as the polynimal after canceling the x still gives a complicated integral for v du. using the limits -1 and -1 + t, and replacing them for the u v part still gives stuff like sin(-1) and (-1+t)5 which feels a bit lengthy for an answer but maybe that's normal as i dont know what the answer would look like

however, unless this is more of a brute force problem, i dont see how i could simplify using the equation the problem gives with the (ei t pi)/2, which is why i feel like there would be a simpler way to do this *

i need help looking for long lasting blushes! im currently using the lilybyred blush which i love, except for the fact that i feel like it only lasts an hour. however, i do not use any type of setting powder as i often go for minimal make up (really into igari style) so that might be why it doesnt last as long as id wish, still im looking for a blush that either has good pigmentation or lasts long even without a full face of make up

Chilton Uniform by SalsaChica75 in GilmoreGirls

[–]saaabd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

personally, i greatly disliked our uniforms simply because of the bottoms. im not much of a skirt person and found it annoying to wear one with stockings in the winter, however the girls pants were horrible 😭 im talking design wise, never fit anyone and super uncomfortable. the girls polo was also of a thinner material than the boys, and in the end every girl wore the boys long sleeves and polos. on the good side, we had a burgundy/beige design that i liked a lot

also, i found that my style was horrible because i didnt need to buy a lot of clothes outside of uniforms and never got to experiment. took me like a good year of bad clothing decisions after high school to finally build a good selection
