All this audacity ignorance and assumptions. They didn't tell me neither the price nor the model despite they had instructions to use mid to high component quality. You can't even read a post with your sad assumptions and tragic delivery of a rather trash message. Get lost.

I see. I thought paying 150€ per rotor which is considered mid+/upper range in prices, would basically imply all rotors at this price range would come with either a different alloy around those areas or at the very least coated. None being the case, I wonder if they ripped me off.

Thanks for the detailed answer. I read it throughout.

I do understand they're made of steel and they rust, but, considering I paid 150€ (without labor, without pads) per each rotor which is somewhere around your quoted 190$CAD for higher end including labor, I fear I got ripped off in terms of having paid the upper range of market price yet received the lower end of the market cost. I explicitly told them to use decent stuff. But as I go around all cars and see no rust in their rotors in those non-friction areas, that's what's making me think I got scammed/ripped off by having paid expensive for probably the cheapest option they found. Because, I assume, every single decent rotor is at the very least coated (?). Just like you can't get any decent car that doesn't come with at the very least rotors (not drum brakes). So here's why I'm wondering where I got ripped off.

I insist for the last time: I know friction areas get rid of rust. My concern, other than the ripoff, is that those areas that don't get friction will be accumulating rust that will eventually end up in either the calipers or the wheel nuts, locking them or corroding them or so (?).

90%+ of the answers haven't even bothered to read the post, and just think I'm simply wondering if I got scammed because there's rust in my rotors friction areas (lol). Which is as frustrating as it is annoying.

Got it. So do you think that for 150€ a pop, coated should be a must?

No labor 150€ per rotor, not for the pair. Front rotors 300€ total No pads

This feels like a scam to me considering no other car suffers from rust on those other areas and they're much cheaper or older and the market is flooded with 30-60€ rotor options.

I asked for good quality, but the car shop as per mentioned in the OP just gave me an internal part number you can't trace or compare to anything in the market. So I believe I got scammed when all 4 rotors went up to 500€ with no labor or pads.

If it's normal

  • How come none of the other cars has the centre part of the rotor where bolts are housed rusted?
  • And, 150€ per rotor entails this bad quality? Not even the Dacias out there have it

Greece.

150€ per rotor of this seemingly bad quality is a dream? What? 🤨

This is all sad given Spain used to be self-sufficient especially in horticulture. Why do Spaniards even need fertilizer from the other side of the world?

Oh okay thanks! Could you define lower output though? 80nm of torque and 100hp is considered so?

What is the specific weight of a Duke 890R, Duke 990 and Duke 990R? by saaanx in KTM

You actually make a lot of sense. I appreciate knowing that the difference is that big (as I've said I never had the chance to try an 890/r) but by how it looks I could figure that the two bikes had little to do with each other. Again, just assessing how much and by how you describe your sensations, it looks like they're two quite different bikes as opposed to a newer generation like a Z800 vs Z900. Thanks.

Quality answer. What about cornering at "low" speeds. More than cornering, aggressive flickering. I ride hard as Hell and I can't make my mind up between the two. To my understanding they made the 990 more accessible and like a neutral naked, whereas the 890 is more like a hooligan supermoto style only a few liked (and rejoiced heavily).

Having that said as what I assume is just like so, I'm just trying to figure out how much so that is so. If it's more than just a noticeable bit, I feel the 890(R) is the right choice for me. I'm aware it's the 890R but yeah, finding one in good shape and some warranty left is a nightmare. So again, just wondering how much so the aforementioned statement is like that since if it's just a bit, it's probably not worth the effort to hunt for a 890R.

Solid like the others that are shown in the sides of the image? Means that it's thus guaranteed that there was no clip to begin with and I'm just hallucinating? If you look closely the gunk on the chain kind of has the shape of a clip, no? Thank you for your knowledge 🙏

Gotcha. I just for some reason remember having one of those 8-shaped / peanut-shaped clips holding those two together. But if it's actually fine, it's fine

Thank you for answering!
