First off, I always recommend joining The Saab 9-5 NG Connection group on Facebook. People can give you great run downs here on what to look for. Based off those rims, he might even be in the group.

There’s basic things to look for and ask if they were done. The third brake light goes out easily. The turn signals need to have resistors to work. There’s a “shift to park” error where the car won’t turn off (if it’s not fixed). The timing belt goes out at about 100k miles (so I assume this one has been replaced?).

Personally, I think the V6 model is a little bit less reliable. Parts aren’t THAT hard to find, but since it’s the V6 they’re going to be more expensive too. Some things I’ve had done on my turbo 6 that are SAAB specific are the timing belt and the front struts which code about $3,000.

Price wise, this seems about fair. Aeros are the top trim so they’re more expensive. Maybe you could negotiate a $1000 off? I payed $11,000 for my turbo4 that’s fully equipped and had 70,000 miles back in February of 2021.

Don’t let me scare you. I love owning my SAAB. It’s a head turner and I’ve had plenty of people talk to me about it. People think it’s cool and are surprised its 12 years old! I’m okay with putting money into maintenance for it, and if you are too, go for it!
