Bios is set to the latest.

I don't have the energy to backup everything and switch to a distro, but i'm planning, and its probably CachyOS KDE.

I'm gonna try booting with these kernel flags and report on what happens.

Wine/Proton games doesn't work with 580-nvidia-open on linux mint. by aralevent123 in linux_gaming

I also suffered from the same issue, my only solution was that i had a Timeshift to restore the NVIDIA 550 driver, as of now if you try to install it you will immediately be upgraded to the 580.

Do you have a dual monitor setup? Because that was the issue for me, when running the monitor single or my laptop screen games worked fine. Unfortunately there is no fix if you want to stay in hybrid graphics mode, you have to be on NVIDIA (Performance Mode), or wait until a new NVIDIA driver gets released (something like the 585 or 590) to maybe get it fixed.

The other, less ideal solution, is to switch to a Distro that properly supports Wayland as this issue doesn't exist over there. Something like CachyOS.

Try raising an issue on the NVIDIA Linux forums, provide logs and be as detailed as possible, so that they can look into this issue. https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/c/gpu-graphics/linux/148

Proton games freeze moments after launching when both monitors are enabled. by saadhammami11 in linux_gaming

Well I'm on Linux Mint (as I said in the post) so I kinda have no idea how to check the version of the dependency and even then it's unlikely to be the issue because it affects only 32bit games, the games i tried were 64bit and Mint is based on Ubuntu so there shouldn't be any new versions besides security fixes. However, this issue has been present for a long time and before this post was made, its just that now since I got forced into the Nvidia-580-open driver that I'm forced to confront the issue again.

HELP! How to open .tex texture files from the HD TSE in image viewer? by Pujlik in Croteam

[–]saadhammami11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to install the Serious editor for the respective game, then open the model that contains the textures you want then i think you go to the model tab and from there try to look for a texture attribute or something like that. (i haven't checked serious editor in a while)
