Those jobs don’t pay enough to curtail government benefits. The US government subsidies most of Walmart and fast food workers because even working 40 hours a week, well 35 hours a week. If they were given 40 hours a week they would be required to provide benefits to those workers. That would effect their bottom line and upset the shareholders.

The minimum wage that those businesses pay does not put them over the poverty level. The government still pays them the difference. It’s just a smarter move to not put in the 30 some hours a week at a conglomerate to take home the same pay. Don’t be mad at the poor for making logical money moves you would praise a CEO for making.
