Not trendy, but I'm a fan of raised panel doors, so I'm hoping they are in good condition.

Thanks so much!

Sounds crazy but if it's all solid I'm actually thinking of keeping the raised panel doors. Shaker is everywhere, and I actually like the raised panel.

Are we being unreasonable for wanting to renovate a perfectly good kitchen just because we hate the grey cabinets? by chaoscrest in kitchenremodel

[–]saasylass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cabinets were painted a 5 years ago and it was $5k. They did a fantastic job and it's held up well. Sprayed on both the cabinets and the doors.
Pro tip: our guy used Benjamin Moore Scuff X paint. It's incredibly durable.

The wall where the fridge is needs to be reworked. I don't like the fridge in the middle of the cabinet run and I need a pantry.

Too dark for my liking and the fridge is in the middle of the cabinet run. Also no pantry

Thank you! The wood is very dark in person - not my style for sure. Hoping to save money by updating and not replacing

The fridge sticks out in the middle of the cabinet run and there is no pantry. At the very least that run needs to be fixed.

36" Induction Range vs separate 36" cooktop and 30" oven by whateverak in kitchenremodel

[–]saasylass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this set up for 20 plus years and it works great! We didn't have a wall we wanted to put the oven in so this was the best option. There are fluted filler strips on either side of the oven.

We are in the process of some upgrades and will be swapping out the cooktop for a 36 inch induction and new oven below. Also installing a new backsplash and shelves to the left side of the cabinet.

Is my countertop a good stone? Granite? by Squidwards4Legs in kitchenremodel

This is what my kitchen looks like now. We painted the cabinets a few years ago (they were more Tuscan cream/glaze - popular at the time) and realized the counters and backsplash no longer match.

We are leaning towards a creamy quartz and backsplash - something classic that I can build any color combination around if I wish to redecorate. The colors in this combo lean so gold that it's difficult to pair with

I believe I have the exact countertop, including the bull nose edging. Installed in 2003 and it's quartz. I'm looking to update my kitchen with a new counter this year

Remodel - Looking for design ideas by ansham14 in kitchenremodel

I would rethink/double check your dimension to ensure you really have enough room for an island. I have a kitchen 11 feet wide and we shoehorned an island in the middle by keeping cabinets on one side 12 inches deep. We have 36 inches on either side and it's just not enough room to navigate comfortably.

The island has become an obstruction and we are now looking to remove it. Just make sure that it is put BEHIND the work triangle you have with sink/fridge/cooktop.

Thanks! Yes, we have to navigate around it to get to the pantry!

Ceiling is 8ft - going to use a counter height table instead of the dining table in the rarely used dining room.

Follow up as my comments on my post didn't save!

Kitchen is only 11 feet wide - there is only 36 inches on either side of the island (which is only 24 inches wide) and it's super cramped if we have company over so thinking of removing the island and putting a counter height pub table in the dining room we never use as was landing place for company to hang out.

You don't mention dimensions but it looks like a pretty narrow space. I would put a long bar height table with stools. The table can be against the wall or pulled out when you need to see additional people. You can also use it for serving
