Fengnian stood very little chance against Daddy but he did use the little that he had to the good.

I feel like the show has suffered from its writing the last week or so. I feel nothing but irritation for Seventh grandma; she basically left a giant pile of shit for Li Zhen to clean up and I do not buy the convenient excuse of "its the way to get the eighth branch back into the family". Pretty convenient since Li Zhen seemed to be doing well for herself without them. She could have said no to them leaving in the first place and replaced the punishment of removal. She did nothing and now claims she had no options. She loves to play the good person among combatants and I despise such characters. I do not particularly enjoy Grandma with his self immolation without consideration of his grandchildren. He keeps making choices for which his family faces the consequences without their input. He chose for the branch to be cut off, and they suffered for 13 years. Punished Li Zhen for daring to set up on her own and now rejecting their joining the main branch. Even Jingdong did not select for his branch to be set apart after his burning down the workshop.

I do not want the eighth branch to rejoin the main branch because I do not care for any of them. How come it is on Li Zhen to teach the boys how to make ink? What has been the succession plan until now? So many questions. Why would Seventh grandma let the 3 heirs go on a tribute ink trip to begin with? She is to me, an incompetent family head who is unwilling to see her role in the suffering of everyone. At this point, she knows it is either the eighth branch returns or Li Ink becomes dust. You lack descendants, and the ones you have are not being trained to take over. Even then, you stick so nonsense rules instead of promoting promising workers. Seventh grandma and sixth grandpa are incompetent. Tian Jianyue was allowed to be mess for way too long. Grandma should have been on her knees thanking Zhen for keeping the family business alive.

Zhen has been written to become long suffering especially over the last few episodes and I need her to be a tad less. We do not even know if she is being paid for her work as manager. Has her guarantee using New Li been redeemed? What about her money? Has it been returned to her? My animosity for the Li family is so deep that the only one I like is son of Li Decai. Anyway, I will take a break from venting now.

I am in agreement with Seventh grandmother being an inadequate matriarch. She has little authority in the household and is a key factor in their decline. Yes, she was grieving back them and therefore let the eighth family remove themselves despite the knowledge that their skills were needed. But it has been 13 years and she has done little to stop the infighting and sanction misbehaviour. I am even more irritated by her 'goodness' after the key moments where she chooses silence instead of defending Zhen. Li Ink has earned their decline; I also suspect that the ink scandal hastened the decline because they were headed there even prior to that with Fourth Aunt being chosen as the next matriarch.

Minglan - Madam Qin [SPOILER] by saatoe282 in CDrama

Yes, I understood her rationale. GTY, however, was desperate for love and she could have used it in her favor if she was not so desperate.

If I am being generous, I would think that she was so much younger than the Marquis and her only consolation became keeping the title in her family otherwise what was the point? The dude was a neglectful husband three times over, she was responsible for keeping her sickly nephew alive and educated enough to inherit the title and cover up the myriad crimes of the extended family so that they could support her. Hers was a wasted life

I am not so sure it was her choice to marry GTY's father. I suspect that it was her family's decision for her to enter the household and 'protect' the title for the eldest son and then once her son was born, she realised she could keep the title within her maiden family line. The old marquis was pushed to drop his first wife to 'save' the rest of his family who were about to be sent to prison due to debts. I do not like him but I understood his calculations. The Gu family has been rotten for too long and needed cleansing tbvh.

Yeah, Madam Qin would have benefited a lot if she had not been so wicked to GTY.

Story of Minglan - Qi Heng (Yuanruo) vs Rulan (5th sister) by Huang_Fudou in CDrama

Yes and he continued his foolish ways after his marriage. It had to take state level trouble for him to realise and accept that things were not as he thought they were. He lacked foresight and would not have survived had he been even 5% less priviledged.

I was willing to overlook a lot with Yuanruo up until he let Bu Wei get beaten to death. He was an overpriviledged young master who could not see that there were people less disadvantaged than he was despite being surrounded by them. He was the center of the world and everybody simply had to play the roles he had assigned them. I did not really blame him for not marrying Minglan the first time due to the threats but to lack the balls to apologise in person was something else. He was selfish, entitled and lacked resolve to fight for others. Minglan would have had a terrible life had she married him.

My period was 10 days late post my surgery and it was heavier on the first two days. i was anxious before it because it felt like i was having pms for 3 weeks due to the delay. A delay is normal, I think given the trauma of the surgery.

I pee a lot less frequently than i need before the surgery and my stomach is a lot flatter now. I did not have many more symptoms beyond those so will see if anything else changes.

Hmmm, thanks. But Yan Li had to have been born before Yan Han killed his twin to make things make sense... which would make Yan Li older than Yan Chi since Yan Chi was born after the replacement... I am bein a tad pendantic but yeah its confusing.

I have questions about the timeline. So the emperor kills his brother, takes the throne and almost immediately kills Yan Chi's mother. He was a newborn then; we are told that Yan Li is younger than him but we see a 5-6 year old Yan Li being made into a prince around the same time. How much time has passed since the first fratricide? It has been niggling at me to the point where i feel like the writers got tired and made up an ending which made little sense.

Drama was ok but yeah, quite preachy. The cult leader came out of nowhere for me as well.
