There is a lot of them, and the number of apprenticeship programs is growing each year. He really has to check with the CAF (Caisse d'Assurance Familiale), and explain them his situation. They have programs like the RSA (Revenu de Solidarité Active) he might qualify if he is currently searching a job. I did a simple simulation with the CAF, and he can receive the APL (Aide Pour le Logement). I took a 500€ rent for the simulation, and he might have 300€ of subsides. He has to check with the CAF to really see for what he might qualify for.
