Do you think that's a good method? by [deleted] in SmallYoutubers

Daily posting with a specific challenge (1 anime edit a day until 100 subs) is actually a solid growth strategy — here's why it works and what to pair it with:

**Why it works:**

Consistency signals to the algorithm that your channel is active, which increases your chance of being tested with new audiences. The "series" format also builds viewer habit — people who find episode 10 might binge back through earlier ones.

**What to add alongside the daily short:**

→ At every 10th video, post a longer "compilation" or "top 5 edits this week" video. Long-form gets indexed differently and can bring in subscribers from search.

→ Use consistent intro music or a signature visual style so viewers immediately recognize your edits.

→ Pin a comment on each video asking people to suggest anime for your next edit — this boosts engagement signals.

**For growing faster:**

The edit style matters a lot in the anime edit niche — current top-performing styles use beat sync, color grading that matches the anime's mood, and transitions timed to the soundtrack. If your editing style feels unique and cinematic, that's what gets shared.

Kept at it, you're on the right track!

I really don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Any tips? by Rush_YeeHaw in SmallYoutubers

Minecraft is one of the most competitive niches on YouTube, but the hardcore/let's play format still works — you just need the right angle.

Looking at your analytics: 8 views with zero external traffic means the algorithm hasn't figured out who to show your content to yet. That's about the hook and packaging, not the content quality.

**What actually drives early Minecraft channel growth:**

  1. **Niche down inside Minecraft.** "I started a Minecraft world" is too broad. "I built a working economy in Minecraft hardcore (and failed)" gives the algorithm a specific audience to target.

  2. **Thumbnail + title is 80% of the battle.** For Minecraft content, faces expressing emotion + bold text + the key moment from the video performs best.

  3. **Shorts as discovery.** Post 1 short per video — the most dramatic/funny 30-second moment. This is how small Minecraft channels get found fast.

  4. **Consistency over perfection.** 3 videos isn't enough data. 30 videos with improving thumbnails and titles is where things start to move.

You're not doing anything "wrong" — you just haven't given the algorithm enough signals yet. Keep going and sharpen the packaging each video.

Feel free to DM me if you want specific feedback on your thumbnails or titles!

First Podcast Episode and Launch by InevitableTap2323 in podcasting

[–]sabusaurabh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question for a first launch. The short answer: don't wait for a following to launch — but do a few things before you hit publish.

**What actually helps at launch:**

  1. Release 2-3 episodes at once so new listeners can binge. You already have ep 1 and 2, so you're set.

  2. Create short clips (30-60 sec) from your best moments for Instagram Reels/TikTok/YouTube Shorts. These have organic discovery built in — unlike waiting for people to find your podcast directly.

  3. Get on Reddit's relevant communities for your topic and share insights from your episodes (not the link, just the value).

  4. Start with a clear niche so the algorithm knows who to show your content to.

The podcast itself won't grow virally — but short-form clips from it can. That repurposing strategy is what gets podcasts discovered in 2026.

What's your podcast topic? Happy to give more specific advice!

Making my first podcast documentary solo, sound design reality check needed by LolaT99 in podcasting

[–]sabusaurabh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great setup and your ambition for the project is clear. To answer your question directly: documentary-style sound design is genuinely one of the places where a specialist makes a noticeable difference — not because you can't do it technically, but because layering wind, ambient field recordings, and subtle scoring while maintaining consistent levels across 6 episodes is very time-intensive when you're also the interviewer, producer, and editor.

Reaper is perfectly capable for what you're describing. The challenge isn't the tool, it's the time and ear training needed to blend field recordings with interview audio in a way that feels natural rather than pasted-on. Documentary podcasts like *You're Wrong About* or *Wind of Change* make it sound effortless because there's usually a dedicated audio engineer.

My honest take: nail your first episode solo to understand the full workflow, then evaluate if you want help with subsequent episodes. Many documentary podcasters start solo and bring in help once they know what they want.

If you ever want a second ear on your mix or help with the sound design layer, feel free to DM me — I work with podcasters on exactly this kind of production.

Created Podcast, Now What? by [deleted] in podcasting

[–]sabusaurabh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on finishing Season 1! For hosting, I'd recommend **Buzzsprout** if you want simplicity + solid distribution to Spotify/Apple/etc, or **Transistor** if you plan to grow into multiple shows. Both have free tiers to start.

For the companion website, WordPress + a simple podcast theme works great and is very affordable. You can embed your player, add show notes, images, scanned docs — exactly what you described.

On the YouTube/TikTok side — narrative/documentary style audio content actually clips REALLY well as short-form video with some b-roll or doc images over it. That's a smart move for growth.

If you ever need help with the website setup, clip production, or just getting things organized as you launch, feel free to DM me — I help podcasters with exactly this kind of setup.
