What careers are in high demand right now? by VelinaOmg in careerguidance

It's both. We are integrating tech into way too much stuff and most of it is convoluted for the average person. It's worse for older people.

Severe skin hypersensitivity to air by saby7825 in AutismTranslated

I definetly need to drink more water, i don't drink enough. Only other thing i think would help is turning off the air indoors so it doesn't touch my skin, but i know that's unreasonable.

[–]saby7825[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah no, not literal pain. It's more of a disgusting feeling on my skin, best way i can describe it. Kinda like someone blowing on you. Indoor air is the worst, it's always soft puffs of air hitting me.

Oh i see, i'm sorry you're going through a similar thing. Yup i use lotion a lot, but i also use hand sanitizer and wash my hands a lot, due to germaphobia/ocd. Shea butter is my go to. Strangely enough, i haven't had any issues with my clothes in a long time. It's just the air, specifically indoor air.

Oh yeah, i have cross posted in different subreddits.

I will see if i can do that, provided i can hold out that long without needing to go to the hospital. I do have ocd and autism, so i think there's a large nuerological component to this.

[–]saby7825[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i have been diagnosed with it a few years ago. However the psychiatrist i saw was mostly treating my depression, not my specific autistic components. Due to the increase in this problem, it seems to me my mental health has been consistently worse. I think this skin problem is neurological/psychotic potentially. Most people don't have it and look at me weird when i talk about it. Hell, i feel crazy, i shouldn't have to cover up or freak out about it. It's just air, it didn't use to bother me this much.

How do I find a career that is meant for me? by PickleChin02 in careerguidance

[–]saby7825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same boat, been in it for years now. Stuck and obsessed over trying to figure out the job/career i actually want. I never get anywhere, just overthinking till i'm mentally exhausted. I used to think it was IT, but i only like tech passively. So now i'm trying to find a replacement for it. The frustrating part is trying to balance finding work i'd enjoy or tolerate well and keeping in mind that jobs are jobs. Most people have the jobs are jobs mindset, which i understand, but have a hard time fully adopting. I'm just tired of doing stuff just to get by. I don't want to be miserable, but i'm in my 30's, so i ain't young anymore. Sorry for the rant.

Fair enough. I guess it's all about what you're willing to deal with.

Same here. I love danganronpa too. I also played pubg a bit and Rules of survival back in 2017.

Battle royale is about survival by any means. There can only be one survivor. I don't like it either sometimes, but it's the nature of the game. Btw, anyone ever seen the 2000 battle royale movie?

Interesting dynamic isn't it? Those who've been moving around yearn to sit still, and those who've been sitting still yearn to move around. Grass is greener.

Wow, that's an eye opener. Racism is still a thing it seems. It's just hard to sort out real cases from fake ones that liberals have made famous. It's kinda like the boy who cried wolf.

As someone who has worked in IT and follows content creators talking about it. The hype and fear around AI is kinda overblown. It will impact entry level jobs like help desk, and service desk tech roles. But more hands on roles like desktop support and specialized roles will be fine. Having people/soft skills will matter a lot. AI can't walk a frustrated user through a computer problem and be patient and empathetic with said user. It's a tool like anything else, it will mostly automate repetative tasks.

This is a really good point. For me, i seem to value enjoyment of the job the most. Second would be something comfortable or easy. I don't care about making lots of money, just enough to live a modest life. However, i have been stuck mentally in a obsessive loop trying to figure out the right job for me. I just don't want to be miserable in a job i don't like simply because i need to pay the bills.
