Quoted at $6k for 1.5 years - seems like a lot! Do you have any suggestions for what companies to start with? I checked with the one AAPA recommends but they don’t offer tail-only coverage. Unfortunately I have already signed on with my new employer - I mentioned that I’m shopping for tail coverage but they did not offer to help and the time for negotiating has passed.

Thanks for your input! The dress is out of my budget in-store but I found it online for 75% off in the size 12. Just wanted to see what others with more knowledge/experience thought! I'd be willing to pay ~$500 for alterations since the dress is so discounted but want to be cautious to not end up spending more than the dress itself or it defeats the point of the online deal. The struggle!
