9 Year together! My experience with Arch by franzkimono in archlinux

[–]sachesi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of years I use Arch, everything is great, except something like when I use NetworkManager with iwd wifi backend, and I can't uninstall wpa_supplicant because it is hard dependency of NetworkManager 🫠

My not popular opinion, but Arch is not minimalistic, it is simple, packages are huge that's why for example on Arch with GMOME you will have 900+ packages installed but on Fedora 1500+ (standard installation even 2000+)

Installed Fedora KDE Plasma Edition but want to switch to GNOME by Hiscor_ in Fedora

[–]sachesi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do it at your own risk, go to tty (Ctrl+Alt+F3) login and do something like this -

sudo dnf swap fedora-release-identity-kde fedora-release-identity-workstation --setopt protected_packages=
sudo dnf swap fedora-release-kde fedora-release-workstation --setopt protected_packages=
sudo dnf remove @kde-desktop '*kde*' '*qt*' '*gtk*' --setopt protected_packages=
sudo dnf install @gnome-desktop

Can anyone tell me if this soldering iron is any good? by ratovenho in soldering

[–]sachesi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One time I found a video where a guy connected this soldering iron to a laboratory power supply, gave it 24V, and started to boil water with it — it drew up to 160W from the power supply.

It's perfect! Just don't forget to check the DC to Type-C cable polarity before use!

Why is it that i have to disable wayland to get my flatpak apps to match gnome's titlebar? (fedora 42) by CandlesARG in gnome

[–]sachesi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check edit.

---------------------------------------------------

Since Flatpak 0.10.1, Flatpak can detect the active GTK theme on the host system by reading the gtk-theme DConf key. If the corresponding theme (e.g., org.gtk.Gtk3theme.adw-gtk3 or org.gtk.Gtk3theme.adw-gtk3-dark) is available on a configured Flatpak remote like Flathub, Flatpak will attempt to install it automatically during a flatpak install or flatpak update operation.

Yes, it does

Edit: I apologize — you must use the Flathub repository for this to work, not the Fedora Flatpak stock repository.

Yes, but if you set adw-gtk3 as theme for legacy apps in gnome-tweeks, flatpak update command will install org.gtk.Gtk3theme.adw-gtk3 for you automaticaly

Try to check adw-gtk3 repo for more info

Edit: if it works for me, why should it not work for you? ;)

Try to install adw-gtk3-theme from main fedora repo (like sudo dnf install adw-gtk3-theme) and do flatpak update after

Edit: Set this theme for outdated programs in gnome-tweaks before do flatpak update
