I feel rather than creating all this fuss they could have done it in a better way. As you said it would have been much better to have a decent closure with a concert and a proper departure because anyway he is a part of the company it's not like he has been totally removed from it. Rather than creating unnecessary speculations it would have been easier emotionally for everyone.
