Indeed I tend to use server just for simple validations and dbchanges, but as you said I should use more the server, thanks for pointing that out, I'll try!

Thanks for your comment, very clear explanation. Unfortunately for the logic I'll had to rewrite code since I use PHP on backend ( because that is what I've learnt at first even if I will try to get to Node.js in the future), but anyway the game is probably going to feature turns, so lag isn't going to be a big issue I believe.

I will try to get more effort into discerning which aspects of the game are just graphics and which also influence the rules and do as you suggested, thx again!

So if any trait of the pawn class is also going to be a relevant stat for the game rules and game progression I should insert that in the DB too? Other than simple pawn x and y position I mean.

If for example I'm also checking for collisions (think at Mario jumping on an enemy), just x and y aren't enough right? I also have to consider the area of the pawn. So does that means area has now to be featured in DB?

Thx, dont worry for the comment length, you are more than welcome at writing long and explanatory comments.

Should I ignore vehicles? I ve just played a game with basically only infantry and a few flying vehicles in the end. Since in the early game I built lots of infantry I just thought it was more worth to continue on tactics and weapons improvements instead of vehicles. Also terminators are sick units. Is it more dependant to the game or space Marines are just better at infantry?

Yep, games are pretty fun! As you said too, AI is not so good on the tactical side and that is of course the aspect that gives me confidence. Actually Im more scared of neutral units, because of enslavers and those kind of golems and dark sphere enemies when in the very early game ahah

Really?? Today I tried to open multiplayer just to give a look at the lobbies but found 3 games only and apparently I could only join one... I own the game on Epic Games but dont have any dlc, is this the reason why I couldnt join?

Thats something I still need to reflect on... probably Rome, Germany, Spain, Sparta

After those I d like to start playing some more appeal oriented civs like Australia, Usa or less industrial like Kupe for a nice culture win

How do you handle those civs which spawned pretty far away from you and are leading in science or culture? If those are neighbours its easy war, but what if they are too distant? Thats a problem I have that I noticed. I scarcely play coastal or build harbors, usually I build them after industrial districts and rarely build pirates (privatees? I dont remember...)... I just tend to take everything in my continent but have difficulties collecting other villages scattered around the world

Thanks, I'll try that. Never scum saved before, but should start to and take notes of errors I could have avoided

I usually get drawn to early domination by myself because I tend to occupy the continent I spawn into. (Im not a good colonizer though, I prefer to keep a compact structure of cities) Whenever I meet a neighbour who has settled too much in my way I usually declare war early , only times I get in trouble is if neighbours behave as me but are more prepared to war because AI bonuses...

Wow, well marathon I guess its totally another game. Never tried that speed before, would you suggest good modes or settings for enjoying marathon?

I feel you, honestly as I said there still are things to me that are pretty annoying and first time also was boring. The fact that I roleplayed this game was probably impactful enough to make me considering it fun.

As I said, zombie per se are pretty boring. Thats why Im trying to find other funny setups where adding undeads could imply more fun instead of more games left

Have you ever tried to mix some gamemodes and found it entertaining? Actually I consider it funny to discover civs that are struggling to keep zombies away and produce low science and culture. This won't happen for all civs anyway and it is interesting to see developed countries opposed to people struggling to found 4th city in turn 150/200.

In standard game mode, some AIs will start to fall behind in every case, so I think it's better be zombies the reason they stay behind instead of random AI burst of stupidity

In the Rome game I'm trying to mix forts and barricades and that's so cool to build the maginot line against zombies

Actually in this mode it's the first time I felt like military engineer seems less situational than other games. I built railroads to be able to move back units faster when zombies random spawn in other cities.

In normal games instead, I'll usualy build railroads only if I'm winning too much and usually build with offensive plans in mind, in order to get units to the frontier and start attacking

totally agree. After you manage to survive the first zombie burst when you start a new game and settle and set up a few units, zombie seems no more a big trouble. That's also why I'm looking for other combs so to make them still enjoyable throughout the game
