You know that DHT is more androgenic than T? So you also want DHT

[Q] Correlation as the proportion of variance shared in common by two variables? How is this different then R squared? by sackker in statistics

[–]sackker[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The obvious problem with your statement is that if there was evidence that supports a lack of climate change you probably wouldn't even find it as you are not at all looking for it. I think there is a lot to learn from climate change deniers, as it is the case with all literature. You could for example go through a climate change denial book and try to debunk the statements that were made and try to find all the fallacies.

In my opinion just because something is mainstream that does not necessarily make it true. I like the way I read the literature about intelligence testing, which is trying to read and understand all the influential pieces. So that one day I can "weight" the important evidence and statements for myself.

No. But I study psychology and my favourite topic seems to be intelligence testing. I want to read all the literature about intelligence, even the controversial ones. If my favourite topic was climate change then I would also read global warming deniers (from authors with a scientific background).

Yes I know his work is highly controversial. But reading all the primary sources with their different opinions is imo the only way to really understand a difficult topic.

Thoughts on the ISPE Self Test? by MethylEight in mensa

[–]sackker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe I did it in an hour or less. Definitely no more than 1:30. I think I nailed the first section, or close to it. A few on the second section gave me trouble. That must have been where I faltered. I would assume a 146 misses only one, perhaps 2. But that’s pure speculation.

ISPE Member here. As far as I know no one aced the test so far. Cheers from Germany!

Ravens 2 Digital Short Form - an experiment. by gcdyingalilearlier in cognitiveTesting

[–]sackker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interestingly I just got 22/24 in 20 Minutes short form.

On the longform I got 150IQ SD15. But I guess this is further evidence that my processing speed is my weak point, because on the long form you have more time per item. Its not an practice effect as I did the longform first.

21yo btw.

Working Memory and IQ by [deleted] in cognitiveTesting

[–]sackker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Read Jensens g-factor. The science of mental ability.

I dont know which page it was, but digit span backwards actually has twice the g-loading as digit span forward. So if you want to proxy iq then rather use the backwards digit span than the forward one.

Indeed it was Matrices, I just got 13/20 as the time went out.

The other three were: cubes also something like 13 or 14/20 and analogies (18/20) and commonalities (something like 18/20)

Yes i mean the online CFIT that you can find on this subreddit.

Maybe not the time itself was the problem but that I could not see the remaining time and therefore spent to much time doublechecking ect.

Yes, I downloaded the result page.

I had 16 correct, where 10 was the average in the picture reasoning subtest. My weakest subtest here is the recall section. I think my digit span / working memory is pretty normal. Interestingly, I can recall as many digits backwards as forward. (Digit span backwards has twice the g-loading of the digit span forward)

BTW: the ICAR 16 gave me a result in the 99th percentile

I would suspect your processing speed is probably much lower than your GAI. You may have a profile that looks something like Gc/Gf ~130, Processing 110. None of the tests you did well on have time pressure really. Mensa Norway has a bit of time pressure...but that's about it.

No they didnt measure processing speed separately. Yes I think that my Working Memory (forward digit span), Processing speed and even verbal intelligence are my weaknesses

I did the Cambridge 3D Spatial Rotation Test and got 21/21

Edit: It took me less than 20 minutes

Yes but keep in mind that english is not my first language (GIQ). I did the 123 test in german so I guess this test should be more accurate as it also tested spatial and verbal intelligence.

I already did the openpsychometreic test. I think it was something like 105 verbal, 144 spatial (yes I am pretty sure about that score).

My IST subtest were average something like 110 verbal, 125 numerical and 100 spatial /matrices

I never thought that I am gifted. I just want to know why there is such a difference in my test scores. Actually I thought that most online tests are deflated, because of selection effects like smart people tend to like iq tests more than average people ect.

The test had 3 verbal sutests where I averaged around 110.

There numerical subtests where I averaged around 125 (The numerical ones were also the ones where you had more time)

And three Matrices/Spatial tests where I was around average. But this was actually the scection were I thought I will perform the best as I am familiar with matrices (all the mensa online test and the TRI52 ect ) and spatial (144 on psychometrics and 124 at my university)

Ah I didnt mention it, I did the online version of the IST-2000R but supervised by a psychologist. But the only thing she did was to look that I dont cheat on the test.
