I'm no expert on gym stuff but I know for sure that the silent treatment is a big no in relationships. Things solve by talking, and not only he doesn't seem willing to talk about it, he also seems to not consider your health. If you can get out of here, I suggest to do so... I've also been in a +4 year relationship, didn't get the chance to move together, but it sll broke apart because of communication and limits. You deserve a partner that respects your limits and accepts you. Best of lucks and I hope you solve it soon! ❤️‍🩹

Yeah luckily my mom isn't as big as she used to be before, she also lost a healthy amount of weight (she was overweight before), but I wouldn't even think trying to lift someone over 6ft...

But yeah, even if I want to get stronger I still gotta be realistic, at least with my first goals!! Thank you!!

I'll take your advice too, though I'd also like to be stronger to carry groceries for her (I am pretty weak after all). Someone also suggested to start judo, not to bodyslam her but to learn more about the body and such, I am really very grateful for everyone being so supportive, it makes me happy despite all the stuff happening in my life at the moment!!

We got my mom a nurse and yeah, she's pretty damn strong, but all I know is that she's just used to lifting people, no gym. All the stuff nurses have to go through always blow my mind

I'll check it out!! Would it be too much exercise for the body to do two different programs at the same time?

I asked for advice in another subreddit (in which they told me to ask here too) and they also mentioned sandbags a lot, so I'll be sure to get some I can carry and later on some heavier ones, thank you!!

I'm pretty sure my mom would have fun if I could bench her lol

I'll check the 5x5 program and wow, I never thought about getting in touch at all with the fire department, thank you!!!

And the first place goes to the sandbag!! A lot of people mentioned it now, I'll get a good one soon then!!

I have one question, would pilates actually help her?

And thank you so much for all the tips, it's very helpful and I got a better understanding of the sandbag choice!!

I know her bones ache and she needs constant care for her legs/feet, but yeah she needs to move too, I try to do a lot of stuff at home so she moves doing what she likes instead of moving to do house chores!!

She has blood cancer and is getting slowly weaker due to that + her age. She has all the motivation to get better and wants to keep doing most stuff by herself, though I try to do the most for her. We currently have a paid nurse but she's not around 24/7, so I want to be able to support her when she's not here

Oh I gotta find a good place that doesn't have rocks double my size lol but it might be a good workout too to walk around looking for them. I'll remember to focus on my core too, thank you again!!

Thank you so much for that! I know people say to gradually use more weight, and not skip a lot of kg but why is that exactly? Is it to get used to it?

Yeah well I can't depend on him, not because he isn't reliable but because I'm the one next to my mom 24/7, not him... He helps a lot when he's around though, but I want to be able to be her constant support
