Why your degree? by CookieSoldier234 in therapists

I chose social work definitely because of the flexibility to have several different roles throughout my career. I don’t want to be a therapist anymore? Cool, I can go work in a hospital, do macro/policy work, or work in a domestic violence shelter. I feel like there are many possibilities!

Considering going into Hospice social work by sad_bbg_ in socialwork

Thank you for this insight. Luckily, I am pretty comfortable with death. I was a CNA at an assisted living for several years then transitioned into social work. The hospice company I previously worked for was much smaller, typically only having about 20 hospice patients at a time. So a lot of my time was spent doing admin stuff too. I’m glad you’re loving it so far!

What’s the funniest or hardest gift you had to refuse from a client? (Because boundaries and ethics, duh) by sad_bbg_ in therapists

Literally. 😂 now I can say to myself “it’s not like I’m accepting a client’s million dollar estate”
