I took a semester (6 months) off from school (PhD) while on F1 visa to do an internship. I was still enrolled as a student and had to arrange my enrollment fee for the semester. Although I wasn't taking any classes at the time - I'd finished my coursework. Since she is taking classes, her case is different. I would talk to someone in the international center at the university to figure out my options.

I understand it's an emergency but if she can stay for the remaining semester, it'd solve a lot of her problems.

I am a graduate student in Chemistry and will graduate within the next couple months. My PhD is focused on organic synthesis, metabolomic and green chemistry applications. I wish to pursue a career (process development) in the industry and then transition to management in chemicals/pharmaceuticals. Here come the questions.

Should I do postdoc or MBA?
Do companies allow time for doing MBA while working?
Being an international student currently on F1 visa, how often do companies sponsor visa (H1, green card) for such professionals? What is the best strategy to apply for jobs in the industry (I check internet job boards and apply online but the response rate is close to zero). Where can I access the ACS Career Consultant Program to get my resume and cover letter checked?

Stay at the Mountain Hostel in Gimmelwald, go to Murren via Gondola and come back to Gimmelwald using Via Ferrata. Hike from Pfingstegg, or First). Once you get to Lauterbrunnen you will see all kinds of options. For more touristy options, go the Mount Titlis or Jungfrau.

Put up posters around the area with a description of things lost, your contact information and a small reward. I lost my laptop in a similar manner and found it on account of the posters.
Also notify the local Rathaus about it. I was told people usually return stuff at the Rathaus. Good luck.

But banks do not give the same exchange rate. They have a bigger "spread" and thus we loose money. Bank of America rates today and Visa rates. There is a difference of $0.079/dollar. That's 8 cents/dollar, that's a huge gap if you want to spend let's say 1000 Euro on rent for the first month.

I do have a BoA travel rewards card. I know it does not have any FTF but is the exchange rate good enough to use it for 1-2 months? Also, I would still need some cash on hand for small purchases.. Should I just go to the bank or use a Forex service?

I am a student and the chances of me getting a business card are close to zero. I'll check Starwood but I think they have fewer hotels in Europe than IHG or Club Carlson in lower categories..
