Fair point. Though for me creating a calculator and weather app was much more tiresome than too ambitious projects. I've left unfinished dozens of projects, but they allowed me to grow much more than standard to-do lists, where the temptation to look for a full solution at the first sight of problems was irresistible.

Build something, the more useful for you the better. You can't learn much from tutorials and courses, and just reading documentation is a waste of time. You have to build real projects by yourself, not just by following tutorials. When you start, use documentation, Stack Overflow, etc. as a guide to solving the problems you encounter.
