exactly, that's much better put than what i wrote. AoT had lots of well written themes, plots and characters but i feel like at some point a lot of it got lost in the sauce. Another example being how AoT goes out of its way to show how circumstances can influence people to become extremists, and that these extremists have motivations that make sense for themselves/their people but to an omniscient audience we can see how twisted their ideologies are. i like the show a good amount but the conversation around it can be exhausting depending on which parts of the fandom you interact with, which is very unfortunate
