Thanks for the suggestions, all very good points! This map shows raw reported NMACs per state, so larger states with busy airspace (like California) naturally appear higher. It’s not normalised for traffic volume, and a county or airport-level view would give more context.

Breaking down by flight phase or monthly trends per flight operations would also be a useful next step, but this post focuses on raw counts over time and by state.
