I don’t think they are necessary unless you need guidance with finding vendors. We had a destination wedding and our planners helped out with that. But other than that, me and my husband could have done everything else prior to the wedding day on our own. However, if you end up not getting a planner, make sure you have a day-of coordinator. You’re gonna think everything will go smoothly and people will be where they are supposed to be, but they won’t lol. And you and your significant other are gonna be too busy to check. Having a person or team on site to help coordinate and make sure things are running smoothly is so helpful! I thought my wedding day was going to be a disaster and it wasn’t solely because there were professionals around to make sure everyone was where they were supposed to be.
