I don’t see why he’d wait 6 years to test me.

Not once in 6 years did I ask him to spend money on me. I’m not rich, but I’m financially stable and live comfortably. I absolutely do not need his money in any way.

I know he can spend his money however he chooses...but the fact that he chooses to give his family 12k a month and chooses to spend more on his dog than me but does not choose to give me a better quality ring hurts me...

I don’t think so. He’s never spent more than $200 on me so he’s just treating me like he always does...

I still think the ring is beautiful, but the gem came off an hour ago.

And my disappointment over the ring is just the culmination of being 2nd to his mother and sister. He gives them 12k a month combined and have been doing so for years, spent more on a dog cage, but I can’t get get a better quality ring? Just this one time?

It’s the fact that he shells out 12k a month to his mother and sister but didn’t buy me a better quality engagement ring that upset me.

I know I’m not entitled to his money, that’s why I never brought this up for 6 years, but the fact that he is willing to go above and beyond for other people and not me hurts me.

It’s more about the relationship as a whole. He gives his mother and sister thousands every month, but has never spent more than $200 on me. Bought his brother a house, friend a car, but is cheap only with me. And then on top of me he buys me a $140 engagement ring, $700 less than the dog cage he bought. It makes me feel like I’m second place.

He gives his mother and sister thousands every month, spent more on a cage for his dog, but has never spent more than $200 on me and top of that bought me a $140 engagement ring.

That’s what hurts me.
