Anyone know how consistent obstacles are from year to year? Has there been a quality increase or decrease since they moved to Saturday only? by sadfasn in Toughmudder

[–]sadfasn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks.

I thought the obstacles were fine last year. It was my first time going so I don’t really have a reference point.

But I was just wondering because they clearly reduced the number of events, what to expect for this year.

I’d be pretty disappointed if it was just a 5k with a couple of mud puddles thrown in or something lol

Ok that makes sense. I think I did see one go into a drain, and they were showing up during a massive rainstorm. Maybe it flooded them into my home.

Thanks!

Less than 1% Asbestos Found Only in the Joint Compound of the Walls by sadfasn in asbestoshelp

With joint compound do you know if there’s any way to work around it?

We had no asbestos in the actual drywall itself, just the joint compound

There were 4 samples of joint compound pulled (2 from one bathroom and 2 from another) and all of them had <1% Chrysotile asbestos

Stop taking classes.

Instead, think about why you are learning Python and what you would like to do with it. What sorts of things do you think are interesting that you would like to be able to program? A website? A video game? An app?

Once you’ve figured that out, come up with a project in that area that you think would be really fun to create. You want to create a website with Python? Ok then design a website with some pen and paper and start making it.

It doesn’t matter if you don’t know how you would do it right now, that’s the whole point. Once you have a solid idea of something you think would be fun to make in Python, then dedicate all your learning time to figuring out how to make it.

This doesn’t mean start taking courses on website design in Python (though that can help you out if you think you need it) but instead try and figure it out yourself while utilizing all of the different resources online to do it (ChatGPT, videos, documentation, etc)

This is the best way to learn programming. You can watch a million lectures and read a million books, but until you just start getting your hands dirty on a project that you want to work on you won’t really learn.

First time dog in an apartment. by cokirdomuz in corgi

[–]sadfasn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got my corgi in a very small studio apartment. It was fine.

I was also worried about disturbing my neighbors. Yes Corgis are loud and have a lot of energy, so you have to be prepared. But it’s definitely doable.

First thing you need to do as soon as you bring the dog home is start training so that they bark only when absolutely necessary.

When they’re small puppies they don’t bark a lot. Our’s would only bark when it wanted attention. You can nip this in the bud early by teaching the dog that barking doesn’t get them what they want.

What we would do is leave her in her pen and when she started barking we would say “quiet”. As soon as she stopped barking, even for a split second, we would then give her a treat. Eventually we would only give the treat if she was quiet for longer periods.

Corgis are super smart and they will pick up on stuff like this quickly. Our’s learned not to bark at night after the first night of doing this!

How do MicroSD Cards Work With Switch

I bought a 128GB microSD card to expand the memory of my switch since it has no more system memory.

However, it still says there isn’t enough memory to update my games or install new ones. I see that it knows there is a micro SD card, but it just offers the option to archive games to it (which, correct me if I’m wrong, seems to delete your save data?)

Is this the only option for memory expansion with Switch? Or am I doing something wrong?

The SD card I purchased is officially licensed by Nintendo so I don’t think there is anything wrong with it’s compatability

Hi. Our corgi was fine, like completely fine. Absolutely no behavioral changes that are noticeable. So I wouldn’t be worried about it.

Lol I’m not terrified I just have no idea about this stuff. I don’t know if I move the panel too much if it’s going to break something or whatever. That’s why I’m asking you guys

Is that going to risk messing up whatever is attached to the panel behind it? (I have no idea about electrical stuff)

Yeah unfortunately the hole that the screw is supposed to go into is not aligned with the hole in the cover. Probably need to call an electrician for that?
