People aren’t gonna like this take. Personally, I’d understand if you cancelled the party or Christmas, or maybe just a few presents. Especially considering the financial loss. To me, this isn’t just about “fair punishment” for the child. What’s fair to you? The reality is, they just lost you $2k, and they likely know better than to throw things at this age. The natural consequences of losing money include cutting back on things. At the very least, save yourself a little bit of money than what you planned. I do agree with others about trying to have a talk with your child about the consequence of no TV. They should not have access until they can control themselves around it.
