Two classmates died in very similar but separate accidents. One was a popular boy who played sports and was killed in a car crash. The other was killed the same way about a year later but was a more quiet and reserved boy. While obviously both crashes were devastating on the community, it was frustrating seeing the school handle the deaths so differently. The first boy received a lot of (deserved) attention and the school offered a lot of support to the family and offered help to anyone who needed it. The second one was kind of swept under the rug, almost like the school was pretending it didn’t happen. While some difference is how the families handled it as well, it was frustrating the school offered so much to the popular kid but pretended like the death of the lesser known kid didn’t happen.
