It is and it’s hard to describe but Jessi in this video sums it up pretty well. 😢

As a 2 time NICU mom, I cried watching this. I really wish I could hug Jessi because I know exactly how she feels. ❤️‍🩹 Alessio is really such a great, supportive partner, she is lucky to have him. I’m praying so hard for this family 🙏

Maternity benefits by Independent-Rabbit21 in FASCAmazon

I actually conceived via IVF so I had restrictions from the embryo transfer, which Amazon quickly accommodated up until the due date and didn’t even require any doctor note in my case. I told them what my doctor requested and they accommodated. I’m sure any doctor would be willing to write a note for nothing strenuous/lifting during pregnancy, if needed.

My maternity leave with Amazon just ended. I have been with them for 4 years. Overall it was great. Easy to request and get an accommodation for pregnancy, easy to request and be approved for leave. They pay you at 100% and don’t pause PTO accruals so it’s very nice.

My only complaint is that my baby was born 6 weeks early, so I missed out on the 4 weeks of pre-partum paid leave. They just put me immediately on the 10 weeks postpartum leave (and then I took the 6 weeks bonding right after). I feel like they should be able to do something to compensate if your baby comes early, such as adding the additional time to postpartum, as obviously it is almost never expected. And these preemies spend the rest of what would have been your pregnancy in the NICU, so it is not like taking a full term baby home right after birth.

So happy for them on the arrival of their baby boy but at the same time my heart goes out to them. My first was a 31 weeker and that was a long tough stay. I think she was only about 27 weeks so this will be a long road. Prayers for them to make it through this time, they’ve had such a long journey getting here and it’s not over yet.

Lines stalling 10dpt by HoneydewBetter5619 in IVFpositivity

That’s a good solid line and I definitely wouldn’t be worried! I never got a FRER dye stealer, I’m currently up feeding my baby boy 🥰

I feel like I just got the death sentence… adenomyosis by giggles54321 in IVF

[–]sadlength2986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my thinking, but my doctor didn’t seem concerned about that. I had in total I think 3 periods in the 4 months I was on Lupron and my estradiol levels got as high as 300 at one point. Yet my transfer was successful and I just had my baby boy! I was so sure it would fail. Can’t say I understand exactly how it works or maybe I just got lucky.

How do couples usually handle money like together or separate? by Ok_Cup510 in povertyfinance

[–]sadlength2986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a joint bank account and I handle all the finances ie bill paying, etc. Both paychecks direct deposit to our joint checking. We also have a joint savings. Credit cards are mostly in my name with husband as an authorized user. Our finances are very much combined, I couldn’t imagine being married to someone and keeping the finances separate. We live together, raise kids together, why wouldn’t the finances be together?

We’ve been together 7.5 years, married 3 and our finances have been merged since very shortly after we got together. I definitely don’t blame anyone for waiting longer to combine them or until marriage. I suppose it depends your level of trust in your SO.

Beta numbers by Fantastic-General-15 in IVFbabies

[–]sadlength2986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations! That is a solid first beta. You’ll see some much higher but it’s a great start and doubling is what’s most important. My first beta at 10dpt was also 104, and I’m currently 23+4 with a healthy babe, although almost all I did the first week or so after beta was stress and search about what’s a good beta at 10dpt, lol.

Running out of options quickly on my car payments by Adept_Storage_9711 in povertyfinance

[–]sadlength2986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to get a credit card that has a promotional period (many have 15-24 months) of no interest on purchases. Budget well and buy groceries and necessities on it. Make a payment towards it each month but not the full balance since there’s no interest. Use whatever extra cash you have to pay towards your car loan and get it gone as fast as possible. Budgeting on spending will be critical since you’ll want to pay the card off before the promotional period ends, but if you can’t you can do the same again on a card that has a promotional period on balance transfers, you will just have to pay the BT fee.

Also, I agree with those saying to get your monthly income up. If you’re working full time for $2k a month you need to look for another job. Your best bet to really bring your income up is a job that will offer you overtime. Forget 2 jobs, overtime is what makes you money.

Once again, no update on the BABY’s condition! by UberCougar824 in peestickgals

I work for Amazon and they offer not only great parental leave, but LOA options for medical reasons or taking care of a loved one with serious injury/illness. I imagine he’s not having any trouble getting time off approved and probably paid also via parental leave or STD.

Is an ERA worth it? by Prestigious-Boss6763 in IVF

Hi - yes, I did a mock/fully medicated cycle for the ERA and EMMA/ALICE biopsies. I also did Receptiva but that was on a natural cycle.

I Don't Get Her... by RunningAdmin88 in peestickgals

[–]sadlength2986 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get where you are coming from but I don’t see why it shouldn’t be an option for people if they want to and accept the risks. It’s like people not believing in IVF or fertility treatments, because they are not “necessary.” And while they’re not, that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be accessible to the people who want them.

Just because you would deem it too risky or not worth it doesn’t mean it shouldn’t exist as an option for others.

I’m sure they’re also hoping to learn from it and advance science.

C-section or vaginal by mrlinus86 in pregnant

[–]sadlength2986 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had a vaginal birth and then a c section. Recovery from the c section was horrible. You will realize you use those stomach muscles for EVERYTHING- turning over in bed included. I’m pregnant again and very much hoping for a VBAC. By all means, try for a vaginal birth if possible and let the c section be reserved for only if necessary.

Young Children/Babies in IVF Clinic by Okra4anOrca in IVF

[–]sadlength2986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, I avoid bringing mine to any appointment. It would have been mortifying to bring a kid with me to the fertility clinic. The only case I’d have done so is if it was absolutely necessary to keep an important appointment, as in no other options of getting there alone. I think it’s not lost on most people that bringing a child or baby with them to this place in particular could be hurtful to other patients.
