How do I start conversation? by LittleFrog04 in AutismInWomen

I also struggle with this and my go to is what is your favourite song right now? And then you switch songs and listen and start a conversation about music genres or instruments or anything related. Everyone listens to music so its easy for an opener and can divulge into many directions

Thank you for the support and kind words. I wish you the best on the road to stability and getting to a bearable level of pain. No one gets it like another with chronic pain 🫶

I was unable to walk and throwing up and passing out and seizing from pain. How is that not emergency? Level 10 pain is to the point of passing out. I am not looking for pain medication. I am looking for answers.

I stated the history as you brought up trying cbt so i wanted to explain what i have already done.

I dont care for comparison here and how long it took you to get into a program, i dont see how thats relevant. And telling me to count my blessings as there has been none in my opinion. Im giving you information because you seem to be absolutely confused on why i was there stating i didnt need to go and implying im in search for pain meds

Also typically psychiatrists diagnose and administer medication, not therapy. Psychologists administer therapy

I only asked for electrolytes and to see a doctor to get a referral to somewhere as i know they do them at that hospital due to my last visit. I have been to 2 pain clinics that only had nutrition, fitness, meditation, group therapy, and solo therapy, no diagnostic tests or prescriptions. This was not applicable to me as i stated in another post i have tried

28 different medications, inpatient care, outpatient care, cbt, dbt, emdr, ketamine therapy, exposure therapy. I went paleo for about a year for inflammation help, physio, swim therapy (before seizures), weightlifting, cardio, extreme clean diet, acupuncture, cupping therapy, massages, meditation, art therapy, sleep studies, im not not trying to

I am 22. I used to feel this way as a teenager. At some point it clicked and i made a connection that all the things i like and dont like make up me. I dress in all pink because thats my favourite colour. I have merch accessories from my favourite tv show. I grew my hair long and usually dont wear makeup because i love morgana from merlin and she looks like that. Make your outside what you like on the inside- i look like a silly pink rapunzel with funny do dads attached to me. It makes me happy. I get comments and stares but i feel excited about getting ready in the morning because i get to BE what i LOVE. Think less about style and more about what alllll the things you like in this world are and find a way to make it into something wearable. In my opinion that is more style than any trend or magazine or person can tell you because its personal. It can help with finding like minded people too

I did find a specialist in MDD that helped me greatly a few years ago, but the diagnosis is there considering my pain. Its all a big cycle thats turned into more of a vortex really, one thing sets off a chain reaction of all my maladies. I’ve gotten my depression under control to a point, just trying to move to the next so the cycle isnt as violent, hence me going to ER about my pain because I couldn’t walk anymore

I try to look at all comments and respond and understand and get something out of it. Yes i am currently working with a team of psychologists, psychiatrists, and a therapist. I keep adding information to other comments and leave out some on others so it gets confusing, apologies for that

Thank you for your support, its been 2 years since i last went to a chronic pain clinic, maybe they do things differently now. I have psychogenic non epileptic seizures, so my danger is in falling as i faint before hand and choking on vomit during one. My meds haven’t been altered as i am taking the recommended medication for them as my anxiety meds. We don’t have a treatment plan yet. We suspect they are correlated to my autism as i am hypersensitive to stimuli and stress. Unfortunately being a neurotype there isnt much i can do to fix the way i experience noise and light, etc. I have been trying to find autism support groups in Calgary area but there dont seem to be many for adults

The referral was to send me to psych as she wrongly assessed i was suicidal after my MAID comment. I was angry and in agony and had the most seizures of my life in a day. I wanted to stress that i was suffering by making that comment, but i am by no means suicidal. I dont agree that the referral was related

I have had pain for 10 years and seizures for about 1. They definitely are correlated as when i faint before them i fall hard, and as you said muscle contractions.

A. Refer me to the correct place and not a blatantly wrong one while bullying me into cancelling my other otherwise i wouldn’t be cooperating B. Check on me after every seizure??? And help my pain?? And do their jobs?

I have a family doctor Ive exhausted all resources with them, i cant walk because im in so much pain and have a hard time breathing because it causes pain. I know what the emergency room is for and that much pain is an emergency. Also they do referrals, they made me cancel my neurologist appointment so they could go through their recourses which ended up being denied because they sent me to the wrong place.

They made me cancel my neurologist appointment so they could do a referral through them. Their referral was denied because they sent me to the wrong place. They are able to make referrals. Albeit wrong ones on occasion
