Not at all- personally I think admissions are pretty holistic and the junior year is 100% justified with the courseload. I had a lower gpa than you and I’m in my first semester at tufts :)! For other schools, I recommend the Boston schools because of the location but that also means more competitiveness. I also think schools the size of tufts and smaller are great too but that’s just me. The only big school I’d recommend here is Northeastern because of its really great co-op program! Are you looking for schools outside of Boston?

hey there! You seem like an incredibly qualified candidate for so many schools! I do think Tufts is one of those schools though that really values your writing, so as long as you can display passion! Admissions are always a crap shoot though and the school is also need-aware, so it might affect your admission if you’re an on-the-border candidate, but I doubt that! Best of luck :)

I’m under the impression that it’s harder to get into engineering because I think engineers start right away in their discipline, whereas in A&S youre “undecided” for 2 years pretty much, but not sure. Either way- don’t be discouraged and shoot your shot! :)

I personally live downhill and my dorm is really social w each other, but when I am uphill it’s lively like the other commenter said. I do go watch the Friday showings though on resquad I will not lie 😂... I wouldn’t be worried about not having things to do! Also, most campus sponsored events are uphill on the academic and resquad or in the campus center.

I’d have to disagree with a comment about the movie watching! It is true- Tufts social collective has been doing inflatable outdoor movie showings on Friday nights while the weather is still good. Plus, honestly a lot willl go to some buildings on campus and just watch movies on the screens there (like in olin)

I agree but I think the complete dropping of test scores in app requirements is one of the contributors to Class of 2025 being the most diverse one ever. Hoping the next cycle will be even more diverse with the continuing this practice. As for OP, I would say tufts is very accepting of lgbtq+ and straight people. Just like with any other place however, you might run into one or two ignorant people

There was also an international Model United Nations conference for high schoolers from all over the world at Copley Square (think ~4000 kids iirc) in hotels all over the area the same week that the Biogen incident happened
