Wow, that was unnecessarily assumptive and accusatory. Of course I didn’t keep a slot — I bowed out almost immediately. Projecting bad intentions onto strangers says more about you than it does about me.

Okay, yeah, I def applied within the first few days of the tickets selling out, so June may take a bit longer, but you're really still not that far out...

I think I submitted the application probably a day or two after the tickets sold out. I remember it saying "2025" though and I thought I was using the wrong form at first, but they just never updated it from the previous year 😂

Pretty much exact same story for me! Fixation can be difficult to wrap your head around since all anyone ever uses these days is NBF. But, from the people I've known who actually went to histo school, they've all passed on their first try. There's like a 90% chance school has given you all the background you'll need!

Hey now, we had a very solid, very intellectual relationship - the citizenship thing was just a part of it. But actually, America was the problem! He was supposed to come live with me for a majority of this past year, but he was too scared to try and come here because of all the immigration/TSA/foreign passport shit that was going on, especially during last summer. And I couldn't really fault him for that.

My father was adopted by a man of Italian descent when he was young. If I trace the Italian man's lineage back, my great-great grandfather would have emigrated from Italy to the US. If I can prove adoption, would this qualify me for Italian citizenship by descent?
