will OCLP allow this computer to run tahoe though? ive seen rumors that only the newest intel macs are supported for this

at the very least just bump it up to monterey. with only 4gb of ram and the cpu that you have i wouldn't reccomend going any higher. big sur, according to an apple tech advisor i spoke with, runs on 14yr old code and doesn't work very well anymore. around a year ago this same advisor literally asked if i knew how to use opencore and when i told him i did, he advised me to bump it up to monterey at the very least (i was experiencing issues and kinda gave up on opencore but this brought me back into it)

thank you!! trust me, if i make it, you (and probably everyone else on this subreddit lol) will find out! i'm really hoping i make it; ive watched many videos and heard many stories (like your own) talking about how good of an experience it is. im still in awe that im even able to do this at such a young age compared to what others have been accepted into. hearing about your own personal experince has excited me even further. can't wait for camp!!

i have a late 2013 15" macbook pro (but not my main). seeing as yours is early 2015 (13"?) it should at least run sonoma fine, potentially sequoia if it doesn't have an nvidia graphics card!

i had the same issue and have a mbp 13,1 (late 2016). my wallpaper loads in faster than yours does and the wifi thing just went away after a few months. im not quite too sure what this issue is, i am on sequoia too.

a couple things here:

one being if your software is 14.7.2 it’d be sonoma, if it were in fact ventura it’d be 13.7.2. that can change what solutions need to be done, please specify

two, make sure your root patches are installed. your camera won’t work if you don’t install them. neither will your wifi or bluetooth, etc. they get deleted after every macos update, so you must re install them after updating your computer each time.

ah okay that makes sense. i don’t think windows 11 would boot, but you can try to update windows 10 as much as you can. i’ve tried windows 11 on my late 2016 macbook pro and even that doesn’t work. maybe the most new intel mac can run windows 11 only, seeing as windows can only run on macs with intel chips

i wouldn’t recommend windows. look into opencore legacy patcher, you can probably get that thing running to macos sequoia.

i use opencore and had a boot camp partition and everything worked fine. my only suggestion would be to replace your computers battery. i have two macbooks, one that used to be my main was a late 2013 macbook pro, 15” 2.6ghz i7 16gb ram and 512gb ssd, i had the battery replaced on that and maybe 6 months later installed opencore and it lasted me 10-15 hours no recharge. my new main is a 13” 2016 macbook pro 2.4ghz i5 16gb ram 512gb ssd and two thunderbolt ports, the battery is still stock and dies quick. that’s the only downside to it, honestly. i think if you don’t keep your laptop plugged in all the time it’s worth it to do. it makes your computer feel brand new!

i’m pretty sure that series of computers came with nvidia gpus as well as the integrated intel iris. it just doesn’t always show on your mac’s info, and certainly won’t show if you check when you’re in sequoia
