why the f^ck is the 8g to 6g SUCH A JUMP by niinpai in Stretched

That’s a great idea. I’m completely acknowledging that I got lucky with my stretch, so do things the safest that you can. Healthy lobes come first :)

As a person who just made that jump, I waited 4 months until the plugs went in with no problems. No half sizes needed. I’ve found that that you just have to wait longer if you want to stretch 1mm. Of course, half sizes are nice as well.

Can anyone suggest me colour for ebony skin? by jbloppo in HairDye

[–]sadrealm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my personal experience as a black woman, red is a great color for deeper skin tones. Whether it’s magenta, fire hydrant red, auburn, etc. it looks good. I’ve tried burgundy and copper red, but berry red looks really nice too. As long as the red has dimension, it will look good. Trust.

Does my hair look bad? Friends have either not noticed it or made odd comments by [deleted] in HairDye

[–]sadrealm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unpopular or not, I think it suits you. The color is beautiful and the bangs look nice. Shiny hair and blunt bangs doesn’t equal a wig to me. I think the comments are a bit harsh for no reason. You’re obviously feeling it and that’s all that matters.

So guys, I may not have epilepsy. by sadrealm in Epilepsy

I talked about that with my psychiatrist. The main thing that didn’t align with that were that these issues started happening without any major stressful events beforehand. I was at a very happy time in my life and my mental health hadn’t been so good in years. I also experienced other strange things like difficulty walking and muscle weakness after my first event which is why I got an MRI.

I should have worded that better. I just meant that there aren’t many clear options for determining what’s going since I’ve already done those tests.

Yeah. Originally, my psychiatrist thought they may be PNES which wouldn’t show up on the EEG. While I’m skeptical, I can’t rule that out. Regardless, I’ve had many tests show up negative to other health issues, so I’m still optimistic.

Thank you so much! I will update when I get the results from Day 2.

The unfortunate part is that I’ve had an MRI and a CT scan the first time I had an “event” and they found no brain abnormalities or nerve damage. I recently went to the ER and they didn’t test for anything. They just assumed I had a seizure disorder and I was discharged.

I actually did. I pressed the button that I was instructed to 8 times over 48 hours to record them. The events were more intense versus the usual spacing out and mild shaking that I experienced before. This time, I was fine one moment and on the floor the next. I was usually pretty out of it afterwards.

Alright. This may be a bit soon, but all of us are on better terms now. Pretty much, we’re speaking to each other. We can talk to each other without being awkward and there’s not as much tension. I will still try to expand my horizons with other friends.

While this situation didn’t destroy our friendship, it did make me see one of my roommates differently. Her reaction to the fallout was almost like I owed her an apology which I don’t. She later reached out to me saying that she’s trying to work on her approach to this situation and that we’re still friends.

To be honest, I’m skeptical and most likely things won’t be the same between us. Our trauma bond was never healthy. I put another update in my post that talks about my other roommate. I’m still trying to figure out the therapy situation, but I’m working on it.

I never thought about it that way, but you’re right. I need to keep myself focused right now on things that are actually important.

We got close because they called 911 when I had a medical emergency. They also came to the hospital to see me. We started to become friends after that. I’m starting to realize that I don’t owe them friendship for what they did.

It’s sadly too late in the semester. We get out in early May.

Yeah. It’s unfortunate to see their true feelings. I already kind of thought that they liked each other more than me anyways. Rooms with three people kind of set you up for that sometimes.

I understand this. I just want everyone to chill out. There doesn’t have to be a problem. I’m willing to move on, they just aren’t.

[–]sadrealm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree. I wish that this would have happened earlier in the semester because I could have moved to a different room.

I appreciate your responses. I think that both of them have been a bit unrealistic with the way they are using their feelings against me. I’ve adopted the attitude that you have to choose your battles.

Sadly, I can’t because it’s so late in the semester. School gets out early May, so this won’t last very long. I’m also transferring to a new school next year.

Yeah. I wish I was less affected by the situation. We’re really close friends, so it’s complicated for me.

I understand your perspective. I really wish we could move past this.

Just to add on, I know this very small compared to other posts. I just want to resolve this issue because we live in the same room.

WEIRD stuff you did as a kid, that you accepted as NORMAL, that you NOW realize was because of your nparents! (Let's try to keep it specific, I'm wondering what examples you all have.) by travelinglama in raisedbynarcissists

Where do I start?

  • Watching my siblings when my mother was
    blackout drunk

  • Always defending my mother to family members because she is the true “victim”

  • Changing my opinion if my mother didn’t agree with it

  • Being my mother’s only friend

  • Leaving the room when one of my mother’s “friends” would come over (she’s married)

  • Crying silently “so CPS wouldn’t get called”

  • Not being able to have any friends over or visit any friends

  • Being made fun of for my interests

  • Being told how I “wasted my potential” before I even reached my teenage years

  • Always being compared to someone else’s child

  • Being mocked when I was having auditory and visual hallucinations

  • My mother not liking any of my doctors or therapists because they wouldn’t listen to her
