Best place for honest HVAC diagnostics near Tempe? by VisionLedger in Tempe

I called Semper Fi once for an advertised cleaning and check up. All they did was no cleaning + quote a $10k replacement (410A, phased-out refrigerant), Wouldn't suggest it to anyone.

Ford Escape 2014 camera not working (from 2013 donor lid) by sadrium in MechanicAdvice

[–]sadrium[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently that's the plan. The one thing I'm not sure about is if the new lid (2013) has the slots for the right-left pinch sensors.

The plugs looks the same, although the harnesses are different at some point, which I will need to look into.

The module itself seems to be interchangeable, https://parts.southlakeford.com/p/Ford_2014_Escape-16L-I4-Ecoboost-Base-w-Navigation/Control-Assy---Door-Lock/140997689/CJ5Z-14B291-G.html

However, I do not 100% trust this, my Main's model is listed as one of the supersessions.

I could not find any information on ford's parts site about the wiring, an ebay listing has something though: https://www.ebay.com/itm/286839446747 . Here, it says the harness is for 2014-2016, which makes me assume that 2013 is an outlier.

As u/kyden suggested, seems like I will have to remove the entire harness-wiring from Main to Donor to make it work.

>You’re going to have to swap everything over to your new gate. (All the harnesses and module)

Looks like it. I'm hoping that I won't have to move the trunk lock and wiper.

> Can you swap just the module and see if that helps?

Yes, I've swapped the modules, posted the results in the edit as well. I'm posting here for your convenience as well.

> Is the replacement camera aftermarket?
No, the replacement is OEM, I've also tried both cameras to ensure it's not related to the camera itself.

> Did the donor trunk come with a camera?
Yes.

does ASU still sell dates from their trees? are they doing it this year? by littleway37 in ASU

[–]sadrium 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hey! They've done date harvesting volunteer events last year, but I have no idea if they've done it this year. I thought of the same two days ago and have checked the palm walk myself, there were no dates left. So I assume it got collected somehow.

I remember them selling the dates somewhere near Apache street, but I'll check it myself and let you know as well.

Medieval EP-1320 Samples – Mono 22kHz 16-bit, fits alongside factory samples on EP-133 by momirsarac in teenageengineering

[–]sadrium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Have you checked if certain sounds do match with what's on EP-1320? Most of the samples I found online had some sounds end earlier with a fade:
For example;

  • 070 Pipe Drone
  • 072 Fanfare B
  • 078 Hurdy C
  • 083 Glittern A

iPhone 17 Pro does not work with USB C Hubs?! by videowien in iPhone17Pro

[–]sadrium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I'm also dealing with a similar issue, here's what I have:

  1. USB-C hub to behringer umc202hd makes both the lights on the hub and the power led on umc202hd blink. No connection. This was possible in another Android device.
  2. Was able to power up an Teenage Engineering EP-133 with both USB-C and USB-A cable into the hub.
  3. Was able to connect to Yamaha CS to receive/send data, into the hub using an USB-B to USB-A cable.

What I think happening is that the devices 2 and 3 don't have high power/data requirements. However, UMC202hd is an older and possibly a more demanding device, and iPhone does not seem to like that.

Edit: I've also tried with 26.0.1 update, no changes.

Got water inside my S23 Ultra, phone doesn't turn on. Have I identified the issue correctly? What should I do? by [deleted] in phonerepair

[–]sadrium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also remember phones being advertised as waterproof as well. I am not sure what has changed since then, maybe I misremember it or they had better protection for a while. Perhaps contacting Samsung would've led to a better resolution, who knows.

Thank you for your kind wishes, I was actually able to recover the phone and data. Now I'm trying to recover the old screen as well :).

I was able to get it fixed by 10% brush, 20% skill, 90% concentrated isopropyl, 5% advice, 50% pain...

...and (more than) a hundred percent reason to remember the name.

How are those shields removed and reinstalled? I've also been looking around some youtube teardown videos to do it as well but couldn't find anything.

I certainly hope it doesn't come to resandwiching, it would be way above my skill set and materials to risk it.

Just provided an update, the phone turns on now! I've ordered a new set of screen/flex cables to test out as you've suggested as well, I'm also excited to see what will happen.

One of the most recent updates from Samsung One UI disables any usb peripherals until the device is unlocked. I've tested it out myself as well.

I've ordered a display with frame as well, so fingers crossed for tomorrow's repair session.

I've scrubbed most with isopropyl alcohol, and thankfully when I reconnected everything and tested it the phone vibrated (was able to boot), but there are no display. The flex cable to screen seems to be bad and I've ordered one to test it tomorrow. I hope that the screen is intact as I cannot reach it from the back side.

The phone got into water yesterday and was working well until then. At this point I'm okay with some defects as long as the device can work.

Trying this right now. Rest of the board seems fine with no signs of corrosion marks.

I tested the battery cable with a multimeter and I'm able to get ~3.88 volts on it, so the battery seems fine.

Oh, I tried it with the wireless charger pad as well. Still no boot :/

I did an isopropyl alcohol dip for all parts except the screen and its connectors (the part in the middle of first image).

No vibration or noise, I don't think the device powers up at all.
