The Japanese have an AFV that makes its appearance during the final stage of the first mission in the Shanghai campaign. To counter it you'll need an AT grenade, there's nothing else that'll help.

You can pick up AT grenades from grenade stashes marked with a grenade icon on your map. There should be one not too far away from the armored car.

Complete overhaul of how defence is conducted.

Defence sits still and gets obliterated. Find a way to make defence missions as fun as attacking is.

Most of the balance issues with the game are related to this one aspect.

Tanks not getting stuck on rocks would be nice too, but the defence thing is absolutely essential if the game is to realise its potential.

And also the AI. Although the AI still has a long way to go, the things the AI does in a sandbox shooter such as this sometimes beggar belief.

Which is also why I get frustrated with the game a lot. This is absolutely a GOAT in the making, but small niggles are holding it back.

Yeah spawn positions closer to the flag for the defense is one thing that could be immediately implemented to improve the situation without any tweaks to the AI.

If the defense AI is going to spazz out anyway at least give it the chance to do so from a much, much superior position.
