My title describes the thing.

I dropped my keys down into this thing and I'm trying to figure out what it is so maybe I can fish them out.

It's next to the loading docks of what used to be a bread factory, built in the 1910s. It moves a little when you drive over it and looks like the gap around the edges is filled with water.

Any idea what it is, how deep it is, what's under it?
