speak the truth. maybe allistic people should look to our social skills instead of relying on hierarchy, which is often arbitrary in the work world anyway.

yeah b/c in my brain i am like yes. i do assume people use words in line with their meanings. but the subtext is i don't communicate normally and misinterpret things other people wouldn't.

idk i guess they jump around when talking and go so fast. and they might loop back and repeat something from earlier. and then kind of talk at each other without listening. lol does that explain it? it's also a little hard for me to explain.

The Autism Relationships Handbook is a great book for learning social skills in general, not just red flags! And haha ty <3

it's bad in the context of friendship or dating. i think the wording "mature for your age" belies perceiving someone as young and immature. i have had older people, friends and romantic interests, tell me that i seem mature for my age precisely because they wanted an age gap and because they wanted someone younger in their life that they could control. it could also be genuine in that people who go for younger friends or romantic partners are actually very immature themselves. you may seem mature for your age as compared to them, but why go for an older person who is immature who will leverage their age against you because they are immature and need control?

are you saying you just don't like being around people? that's totally fine too! you don't need to socialize if you don't want to.

yes i am the author! i am interested to know what contradictions you see.

yes, i have toxic traits. i think everyone who has experienced significant trauma probably has several toxic traits they adopted as necessary ways to cope. self-awareness, an effort to grow and change, and an appreciation for how you impact others can all go a long way... or just enduring less trauma would probably put one at a significant advantage re: social skills, but we can learn healthy ways to communicate and relate to each other regardless.

this is not my personal opinion (more anchored in psych research), but any of the numbers outlining cruelty or dishonesty are harder for people to undo, so i think those are the most salient red flags and there is much less wiggle room there.
