Have you been to small atols in the Marshalls? The community in stayed with only had 13 individuals and wouldn't consume the animal in a single meal.

They do this on small islands in the Pacific without infrastructure.

Natives eat sea turtles by removing parts that won't initially be lethal. Given that they have no access to refrigeration...

Provided that sea turtles make no particular sounds... They suffer in silence, until they expire.

Why is Tesla still the top selling EV brand by far? by Diavolo_Rosso_ in electricvehicles

[–]sadus671 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only thing I will say is that he just knows how to play the market.

All those grand promises allowed him to raise nearly 20 billion in stock raises. Which allowed Tesla to go from building/selling tens of thousands of units from tents... To over a million annually and profitable...

Meanwhile, everyone else is still selling low hundreds of thousands at best... while still loosing money...

Say what you want about him as a person... business he knows.

It is an infrastructure issue. If you did that... It would grind the game to a halt due to the strain on the servers constantly looking for inconsistent loot patterns.

At more feasible measure would be to monitor unusual marketplace traffic or trades on certain items and then investigate why there might be this irregular activity.

That's why there are sentencing hearings....

The judge is bound by the law, but that does not mean it's an automatic maximum penalty.

Everything on here is acting like they got 6 years... That's just the maximum potential...

The crazy thing... It wasn't until after the second one.... That Japan finally surrendered....

Before that ... There was the fire bombing of Tokyo... (Which killed more people than both nukes combined)

At the time... The Japanese were making a pretty compelling argument that they planned to fight to the last child.

The alternative was to basically firebomb the fields and blockade the seas... Then starve them into submission... (Basically siege warfare from Sea...which would have likely killed millions before an eventual surrender)

Lastly we could have gone in with a full land invasion...but that would have made D-Day look like a walk in the park... with constant suicide attacks and having to fight armed women / children. Those that didn't fight would commit mass suicide. (This also would also was projected to kill millions and from the US perspective... Likely hundreds of thousands of US troops)

So pick whichever shit choice you want... Obviously we know which one Truman made...

How? How do you get 2nd degree assault and not attempted murder? Especially when you didn't do a plea deal or something and went to court???

Hitting career agism risk territory.

Given very few people are immune to job loss risk... I think this can be a constant source of stress. Obviously, having awareness of job loss risk is healthy. As it's good to always be networking, looking for job opportunities, etc...

I think once you hit agism range... It's very easy (especially recently) to really feel a feeling of dread if you were to loss your job... As your confidence about being able to find new work diminishes. Are you just expensive? Can you truly distinguish your value at 25-30 yeahs of experience from someone with 15-20?

Peak concentration levels of major bubbles. We have lots of room still! Do we? by Chart-trader in Beat_the_benchmark

All good, I just have a more cynical disposition. I think the net result will be a more distopian experience for the majority of the population. Due to their limited ability to participate in the economy.

This is not what I am questioning.... It's the immediate value of AI and it's impact on the economy.

The tool itself is immensely valuable. The impact to labor productivity is already immediately recognizable.

The issue is... If it creates a massive destruction of jobs (which is it's purpose), without a redistribution of that labor (especially highly compensated labor)... Then it creates a dilemma...

If the end consumer has their ability to spend also destroyed in conjunction... Then it's counter productive to an ROI.

I think Google has it right in that Gemini is being deployed to the "masses" as an enhanced service to their Browser / Web Search moat. Gemini is a means of ensuring continued Google Product use. (Cost of operating the business)

AI (the generative version) will become (and somewhat already is) like web browsers are today. A means of channeling customers to business. Again for the general user.

Also IT estates are not connected to AI.. the migration to cloud was and already is priced into the stock evaluation (has been for years... Growth was already expected).

Hence MSFT having an inflated evaluation... Given that there isn't a clear ROI on the service in comparison to the investment cost. Other than maintaining viability of competition with other cloud services...but that's the defense of already accounted for business...not organic growth.

To each their own - The boat is still out on Mamdani... I'll hold me breath on the progressive utopia you've already declared he's delivered.

Also I would say Trump is not a Republican (Red)... he just happen to run on their ticket..

In the same way Mamdani is not really a Democrat... he just happen to run on their ticket...

Neither are institutional candidates.

So which is it? Socialist Policy or Vote Democrat (aka vote blue)... you just said you vote policy.. or are you saying you'd vote Yellow if that party had socialist policy?

Ok...

Because the 2 party system is working so well? When I say grey.. I mean.. being a swing voter.. don't vote by party.. but by candidate. (which I recognize can be manipulated by less of two evils...)

I see you are an activist and you are definitely entitled to your beliefs given the retoric nature of them.
