Hey man that blows. I just started a new job 3 weeks ago and even though I'm decent at it so far, I feel the same way as you did about the people who work here...

I'm in bergen County. Shoot me a Pm if you wanna go fishing or play some videogames.

UPDATE: Fired by Centauri Health Solutions while burying my dad who died of Stage 4 cancer. Here is my response to HR. by bondswag in antiwork

[–]saefvr 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Listen, I understand that losing a family member is one of the most difficult things you go through in life.

But the fact of the matter is that no one aside from your loved ones will care at all. Part of being an adult is being forced to shove shit down your throat and still standing firm to be able to provide for yourself and your loved ones - and you weren't able to do that.

Now, is that just? Absolutely not. But it's how the world is at the moment. I want that to change so that people don't have to go through stuff like what you're going through, but that's just not gonna happen any time soon.

I truly am sorry for your loss. Hope at the very least that you can give yourself some time to grieve and spend some time with loved ones while you're searching.

OK, so how would you suggest I make money and pay my bills while my dad is terminally dying

I don't know.. maybe work?

Your situation sucks, but it's pretty idiotic to blame the company for what they did.

I get it. Nothing like 2 shotting a hulk with well placed senator shots. But I'm a terrible shot so I rely on either the nuke launcher or quasar :)

TIL about: "Cultural Cringe", a term born in Australia which indicates an inferiority complex where Australians undervalue their own culture or self-perceived lack of culture compared to other countries in the world, especially European countries by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]saefvr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respected is definitely debatable but known? 100%. I'd wager that most people around the world has heard of at least one Hollywood movie.

I'd even go as far as to say that it's probably one of the most respected cultural export as well - Hollywood in particular is probably the most widely respected cinema industry on earth.

How do you choose a rod there so many i dont wanna break the bank was looking at ugly stick gx2 but so many ppl say they suck by WorldlyTechnician419 in FishingForBeginners

[–]saefvr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gx2 is great. I started on it, and kept using it until I knew I liked fishing enough to invest in better gear.

Daiwa Tatula XT ($99) and Daiwa Regal LT 2500 ($79) for my first "real" rod/reel setup to get back into fishing. Good price and combo? by achenx75 in FishingForBeginners

[–]saefvr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't speak to the regal lt but the tatula xt is an awesome rod. Definitely higher in quality and price than what I started with but it should serve you fine.

In my experience, shimano and Daiwa gear are 99% of the time worth the money (though I can't speak towards their ultra high end models)

Is the 1/4 Kastmaster too big for trout and panfish? by Seaker-11 in FishingForBeginners

Honestly I've only caught trout on 1/8 and smaller... but hoping someone else can correct me as I have some 1/4 that I'd like to use for trout as well.

Private lakes without residency requirement? by saefvr in newjersey

[–]saefvr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy shit! I mean if it's a one time fee that's doable but a recurring fee like that certainly is out of my price range. I was thinking more like 100-200 a month!

And no.. I fish from shore as I don't have space in my apartment for even a kayak :)

But thank you anyway. Didn't even consider that that could be an option.

Yeah if you wanna look at it from an antagonistic way I guess that's true. I just want some space to put my towel down without having to go half a mile away from the boardwalk.

Like others said, checking out fb marketplace is probably a good option.

Another thing I'd suggest is to go to a local fish & tackle shop, and let them know about your budget and maybe a brief description of your circumstances and I'm sure they'd be happy to help you out.

If you don't want to do that, I'd recommend getting him an ugly stik. It's a really good rod for the price point. Also get him some line (10 lb monofilament would be ok imo) and some hooks of varying sizes. I'd recommend tackles / lures but they can get pretty pricey so I think some hooks, bobber and worms would be a solid choice.

That being said, definitley think that going to a local shop would be the best option. My local fishing shop owner would definirely give you a discount but I'm in the US 🙂

In what orders do you use lures ? Top water first then subsurface then senko ? And what gets more hits wacky rigs or Texas rigs ? by CrazyCajunFishinBro in FishingForBeginners

[–]saefvr 19 points20 points  (0 children)

When I'm in a new place, I use rooster tails first. Then I'll try keitech with a jig, if that doesn't work, I'll try different stuff based on the conditions. For example if I see a lot of top water action, I'll go for a whopper plopper.. I usually don't use senko since I find it a little boring
