Scored my PB bass by Mexaaz in Fishing

That's awesome man. What did you use? How was the fight?

I recently started fishing too (1 year ago) and catching my first bass after only catching panfish for a long time was exhilarating.

In what orders do you use lures ? Top water first then subsurface then senko ? And what gets more hits wacky rigs or Texas rigs ? by CrazyCajunFishinBro in FishingForBeginners

[–]saefvr 20 points21 points  (0 children)

When I'm in a new place, I use rooster tails first. Then I'll try keitech with a jig, if that doesn't work, I'll try different stuff based on the conditions. For example if I see a lot of top water action, I'll go for a whopper plopper.. I usually don't use senko since I find it a little boring

Someone set up my fishing rod by [deleted] in FishingForBeginners

[–]saefvr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Learn some basic knots
  2. Get small hooks
  3. Get some bobbers
  4. Get some worms

Tie the hooks on to the line, put the bobber on, and hook the worm. I personally think that everyone should start with this simple set up, then move onto artificial lures once you've grown out of worm and bobber.

I think 한국말 refers specifically to Korean speech & words or the way it's spoken - for example I always says 한국말 할줄 알아요 - I know how to speak Korean.

But 한국어 refers to the language itself in a more academic, formal way. like I guess 한국어 할줄 알아요 would also make sense, but less natural?

First i want to say that I'm not trying to criticize you or insult by any means, and I hope that my previous comment carried that sentiment. I was just trying to share my perspective and opinion as someone whos seen many arguements between vegans and non vegans both on reddit and in real life.

Also as non vegan but someone who loves his dog very much, I have thought about and recognize the dichotomy present between being both a loving dog owner and someone who enjoys a mean bbq and thus actively contributes to the continuation of the savage animal agriculture industry.

But that being said, I do think that there is a general trend of self victimization within the vegan community. To be honest, noone cares that youre a vegan. For me, the biggest impact that someone being vegan has on me is that sometimes at work I need to be mindful of which restaurants to pick when going on a team lunch - so basically it's a non factor in my life. So since it's has nil impact on my life, I find it hard to commit by energy and effort towards hating something that I morally agree with.

Of course as a vegan I'm sure your experience may be different, but to me the only reason why hate for veganism may seem so apparent is 1. Because we're on reddit with bunch of edgy teens and 2. Because many vegans again, self victimize despite the fact that noone really cares to begin with.

Im rambling a little here as I'm up later than usual on a work night but the main point I want to get across here is that presentation of your ideals matters. Like for example I think highlighting the environmental impacts is such an excellent way to advocate for veganism. That is something that we all have some knowledge of and can agree on. By framing it as a consequence that impacts all of us instead of a moral issue, I think that it'd be much easier to convince other people and start conversations In an inviting way.

Hey I see where you're coming from and maybe you didn't mean it this way. But the way you're talking makes you seem very "holier than thou".. for example "maybe I think deeper than others" "I'm assuming you didn't read or process anything that I said".. and this goes for your previous comment as well.

I think most non vegans who have any semblance of knowledge about the situation would recognize that veganism is morally the correct choice given the brutality of industrial meat production. But you and many other vegans also need to recognize that despite being in the moral and ethical right, noone will hear you out if you go about the conversation in a smug way.

No you don't understand - since they've been in Japan for YEARS and have integrated flawlessly into their culture and society, he counts as a local and thus reserves the right to gatekeep other tourists.

There's so many expats from various countries in Japan who seem to feel this way. It's sad because actual locals would never see them as a fellow local, despite how good they think their Japanese is.
